The Power of Surrealism and Reality

                                                                            Miles Johnston

Miles Johnston has constructed the bridge between realism and surrealism. He is a young artists that is pursuing his career in drawings/ illustrations. His work is very metaphorical and revolves around the structure and actions of human beings. He often takes the bodies of his drawn subjects and distorts their face or body. His tone is very dark and vintage. His main medium is graphite, which really adds to his overall aesthetic. This year Johnston was even published in the book Suggestivism Resonance, which features one of his newer pieces.

  1. These drawings are very cool and abstract.

  2. Surrealism is such an interesting style, and I think it's so neat that a surreal artist can take a concept and run with it to produce something incredibly out of the ordinary.

  3. As a lover of surreal art, these pieces do not disappoint. They are very eye-catching and expressive. One does not simply look at these at a glance, one must gaze and ponder the idea behind it.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love.
