Black & White Illustrated Words

I found these simple illustrated words, and I think it's pretty cool how they were made only in black and white but are able to easily portray the words' meanings. DEEP uses a simple shadow and bold line effect that works well. GIGANTIC uses a stretch and shadow effects that also work well. RUN is different than the traditional bent legs forming the R because it uses streaking lines to look like wind brushing past the word.
I don't know about any of you guys but or what kind of music you listen to but if I were you I would definitely go check out Billie's new album because it is just some of the best music I've ever heard...plus she's kinda cute
This is an Album cover by BONES and in all honesty I really enjoy it because it is very different from any other album cover I've seen.

KOD cover

This is the cover for J. Cole's Album KOD. Not only is this album great but the art representing it is beautifully haunting. I love the use of a mix of cool and warm tones and the painted gradient patches in the background.

Colorful Dog Portraits

This serious of portraits really stood out to me, not only because I love dogs, but also because of their bright color and fun textures. The artist is Shannon Cummings. They're so fun!

Cheeto the Medieval Cat

This cat looks like a big buff cheeto that is built like a bull dog. I love the artist perspective on what cats look like

DMA Farewell

Next year I will be going to Miami and majoring in education.  I'm super excited and I hope to continue digital art as a hobby. My Website
I dont know where you can find this art but it is amazing and i want it
I chose to do Hidji Films, because of the fact that he does all sorts of media, from digital to video to physical paintings. A talented artist and creative overall.

UniCORNNNNNN

I love Unicorns and I also love making animals to something they're not. I'm also a CORN FED FARM-BOY of Ohio. Good times, good art. See you next year brothers and sisters. CORNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
I really like this picture because sloths are my favorite animal and I like the concept
In London, there are plans to construct a new building called "The Tulip". I love the architecture style of this building and the way it contrasts the rest of the city skyline.

Graduation

I just love this album and the cover, purple is my favorite color so I love the gradient of the sky, and I think the art style is interesting, although I have no idea what the cover means, I just think it looks cool.

Lion King

The new Lion King trailer came out recently and the animation in it blew me way. It looks entirely real. My first time watching it I didn't even realize it was animated.

Envision Project Final Show

I posted about this class earlier in the year, but our class is coming to an end and our final show will be happening soon! This is my film photography class that I've been learning and shooting with. I just wanted to invite everyone to our final show! Here's the flyer for the exhibition.

THE LAST MELON

This is my last meme, the last melon.... I'll miss you DMA

Avengers-Endgame

Avengers Endgame comes out this Friday and I'm very excited to see how this world comes to an end. From the trailers and promotional pictures we see the theme of everything is black and white but only some colors like red show through. This shows the"blood" that has been loss due to Thano's snap. I think this film is a great way to start summer and bring fellow fans together.

Earth- Lil Dicky

So recently the artist David Burd aka Lil Dicky dropped a new song called Earth. It was a big collaboration between himself and a bunch of other big name music artists. The song was him talking about the Earth and how we as humans need to be treating the Earth better and seeing that it's Earth Day today I saw it fitting to share.

Adam Senatori

The other day while I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across a photographer named Adam Senatori. After some research, I found out that Adam is a pilot who primarily focuses on travel photography. Much of his feed consists of aerial photos while others captured he gorgeous night sky. I would definitely recommend giving his instagram a visit!  IG: @adamsenatori

Judges announce photo contest winners

Twenty local amateur photographers were recognized for artistic excellence at EXPOSURE: Montgomery, the City’s 32 annual photography competition, on Sunday, April 14. The competition was judged by Liz Dufour, a photo editor and photographer for the Cincinnati Enquirer; Emily Bauman, curatorial assistant of photography for the Cincinnati Art Museum; and Emily Hanako Momohara, associate professor, Cincinnati Art Academy. A total of 268 photographs were entered into the competition which included adult entries from the Greater Cincinnati area and student entries representing 12 schools. Many of the winning entries will be on exhibit April 20 through May 17 at The Christ Hospital Outpatient Center, 11140 Montgomery Road. Congratulations to Student Winner Victoria Wesloh! Downtown Murals Scattered around downtown Cincinnati, there are lots of interesting murals commissioned by a company called ArtWorks. Many of the murals are either sponsored by an organization(like the zoo), or they represent something that makes Cincinnati unique. Currently there are 147 total murals in downtown and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Here are some of my favorites:

contour line drawing

Lately I've been really into contour drawings. I know the AP class did them at the beginning of the year, but I've been making more on my own, and I think I'm starting to form a true appreciation for the work.

Silhouette and text

Just wanted to share where I got my inspiration from for our silhouettes and text project. One quote I always liked was from a movie I always watch. The quote is "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the lights". This quote is said by Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movie The Goblet Of Fire. This quote inspired me to create my project of a Lantern with the quote within it.

Music Video

While watching music videos for ideas for our next project, I remembered the music video for Happier. This music video has a story to it unlike some other music videos. It plays into lighting to show different emotions and moods throughout the video. It also has a timeline, shows character development and has a plot which seems excessive for a music video but it tells an interesting story which makes the video more compelling. IKEA Filmmaking

David F. Sandberg recently directed the film Shazam! , but he got his start making short films and posting them to YouTube. The shorts he produced were made for little to no money so he had to take a DIY approach to fulfill his vision. To help inspire other filmmakers he posted behind the scenes videos of some of his shorts.

really awesome murals

These large ground murals were made by artist Kitt Bennett. I like how it's a little more cartoonish and edgy. I feel like a lot of the time public art is expected to maintain a certain level of friendliness, so it's cool that something more individual and weird is being supported.

Interstellarlaw

              -    These pieces were created by a 19 year old artist who was born and lives in the UK. His pieces are usually portraits hand edited in some design program. He advertises and sells prints of his art on the website society6.com. He calls his area "line art" and he dramatizes his figures by using contrasted colors.

Revolver

This is the album cover for Revolver by The Beatles, this album came out August 5th 1966 and it is my personal favorite album the band has ever created. This album was their first take on a more avaunt garde approach to song writing, they started experimenting a lot more with their sound, and not only their sound, their image as well. One key factor in making this album the masterpiece it is is the album cover. Art work done by Klaus Voormann is a an illustration in multiple art styles mixed with real photos of the 4 Beatles. The black and white swirly lines and the differing line weight adds so  much to the visual representation of this album.

Dragon's Lair

A week or two ago the dragon's lair collection released onto the switch. This game was originally published in 1983 and took the arcade by storm and was a juggernaut in revenue. A single life costed 50 cents which was a chunk of change back then. The original game was all had drawn animation and was like a cartoon episode where you had to correspond timed button presses with the flashing arrows on screen. The animation in total took 11 months to develop but it seems the time was well spent.

Detective Pikachu

If your trying to find something to look foreword to... well here it is. Probably the most iconic little yellow creature out there is coming to the big screen in a new fashion this time around Youtube Trailer

Steve Cutts

Steve Cutts is an artist who focuses on the main problems of today by representing them in either a small video or in a picture he has formed into the main idea he sees as an issue. I am once again inspired by him because of his views of what is wrong in  society and how it affects us.

New Uniforms

This is the new New York Jets jerseys that was just presented yesterday. I like the new modern design that was added to the uniforms. I think they look great even though everyone else says they suck.

Us

Two weeks ago, I saw the film "Us" directed by Jordan Peele. I saw it multiple times, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed the story and was very impressed by the shots. The use of red to make the shots cohesive was impressive. This monochromatic color scheme is similar to the use of blue in Peele's directorial debut, "Get Out." One shot that I was not impressed by was towards the end of the movie. The point of the shot was to have a close up of a face, all while someone is seen standing behind them over their shoulder. The intention was both people to be in focus. They used a green screen to accomplish this, and it was sloppy and poorly executed. You could see a grey outline on the outside of the close up face. I understood the intention of the shot was to be able to see the motion and reaction of both characters simultaneously, but the execution was poor.

2080s

I found these crazy album designs that take current popular artists and give their album cover an tricked out 80s vibe. In all three a hairstyle or facial hair transformation and wardrobe changes make these artists look the same yet like a new person at the same time. Also the vibrant complementary color scheme and decorative fonts are super cool and add to the 80s feel.

Sarah Weyman

Artist Sarah Weyman, based out of UK, creates animal portraits using watercolor. Weyman has been painting her whole life and is self taught. Throughout her collection the color palette has a range of both muted and vibrant colors. Most of her portraits take up a majority of the space with a basic taupe background to keep the focus on the animals. I love watercolor and the added texture from it.
