Milky Chance - Down by the River

This music video Down by the River by Milky Chance is really interesting to me. First off, I really love the slow motion and colored dust in this video. They also filmed angles and used transitions that really enhanced the story. I thought the overall video was really interesting because of the kids and the story line. It's not how I imagined the song but all in all I think they created it well.

Welp.

Well, year's coming to a close. I'm glad I took this class. I got exposed to all sorts of projects, people, compositions, competitions, etc. I've discovered what things I liked and didn't like. For example, I love illustrator portraits but if I have to deal with Premiere again, I'm gonna break my computer. Things like that. Like, The portrait I did of my father For awhile, I was dead set on being a game designer. Going into the design part of it, 3d modeling, concept artwork, animations, etc. But since then, my interests have shifted and changed and I think I've decided that I won't be going into a digital media career. But, don't get me wrong. I spend hours a day drawing on my tablet at home. Creating art, doodling on math papers and doing all sorts of artsy stuff. Even if I don't go into the career, it's still a hobby amd it's a hobby I love to do. I appreciated my time in Digital Media 1 and I wish luck to everyone taking it ne

Cool Art by Artist James Jean

These are all pieces of art by artist James Jean. I really like these pictures because of the colors and flowing art style. The artist utilizes nature and uses a unique twist that I have never seen before. I am definitely going to take these as inspiration.
I took these photos a little while back and thought they were pretty interesting. I really like how it kind of gives off that creepy vibe/dark. I think there's a lot of little detail and I just love the way they turned out. Looking for some feedback! Thank you

The Great works of Michael Steric

https://www.instagram.com/michaelste/?hl=en This is the works of Michael Steric, a photographer whose work I love. The way he uses the light and landscape is absolutely incredible. The way his eyes see things, as well as his editing style. I love the look of this photo how the light hits one side of the bridge and right down that middle white line the light splits. One side lit up because of the sun and on the other dark. Amazing works, anyone into photography check him out!

Rain Flower

This is my favorite picture, and one from the year, from doing HDR photography. I love how the program we used helped the colors to pop out or make it look like something completely different. I can't wait for DMA next year and for all the new projects we get to make!

Website tutorial

Here is just a quick tutorial on how to use Wix to create a website! I found it was super helpful and hopefully it helps you guys out!

AdiĆ³s DMA

What can I say, it's been a crazy ride. The countless hours spent on one project, the frequent parties to get a classmate to talk to you or  just so someone could bring in chips, guac and salsa, has all led up to this farewell blog post to sum up my two years in DMA. I have  to say, Mrs. Shields has guided me so much these past two years and helped me realize what I wanted to do with my life and how to get there. Next year, I will be attending the University of Cincinnati for Film and Video Production in the Digital Media Collaborative program with a minor in business, marketing or Spanish.  This year has been the greatest year of high school. Even though it was full of stress and senioritis, I loved every minute of it. So here's my advice: if you don't  take AP DMA next... WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Also, get started on your  concentration and don't slack off! Sketchbooks are pretty relaxing even if you  can't draw to save you

Tale of the Three Brothers

This week when I was at Harry Potter World I remembered this amazing animation. I absolutely love the style it was created in and how it well it illustrates a story. This story is crucial to the rest of the books/movies and this animation does an amazing job of giving it an artistic flair that sets it apart from the rest of the movies.

au revoir, DMA I!

It's hard to believe that my first year as an official DMA student is coming to a close! So much has happened this past year, a lot of which I wouldn't have been able to experience had it not been for this class. For example, currently I'm sitting in my hotel in Orlando, Florida, about to finish editing my music video project... That's not a sentence I pictured myself typing at the beginning of the year! This class has opened so many doors in front of my eyes, and really made me realize that my dream of being a filmmaker is a great fit for me. I'm so very excited to take AP DMA next year!!! Thank you so much to Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Shields for making my first year in DMA a great one. I wouldn't love this nearly as much if it weren't for you. See you guys later!

CYA

AP DMA is definitely one of the best classes you can take here. You get to hang with all your friends for two bells and throw parties for the ones  that don't talk to you!!!!!;) @ben This class helped me figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life. IF YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED UP FOR THIS CLASS YET  PLEASE DO IT!! YOU WONT REGRET IT. This is my fav project I've done this year: If you're taking this class next year, here's some advice. -Make friends with EVERYONE in your class -turn stuff in on time -do your sketchbook assignments -use classtime wisely -don't change your concentration thank you AP DMA and Mrs. Shields for the best class!! If you want to check out my website here's the link ;) http://mikaylawerner5177.wixsite.com/mysite

End of the year

I had an awesome time in DMA 1, my favorite project we did was probably the vector art we did, so here is a cool one I found.

Minecraft Trickshots

Following up on my good friend Andrews post of MW2 trickshots ill be posting something a bit similar. My post will be about a very rare art that very few people can actually do. It is something that people spend years of training to make perfect and spend a lifetime to hit all these clips. My post will be about Bow and Arrow trickshots in Minecraft.  Below I have attached a video of my favorite montage, enjoy XD

Trickshot Montage

Art comes in many shapes and forms, i have seen and been inspired by this hard work and this mans motive to grind to become a better player. His edit to this video his also highly intricate and complex and it shows his dedication to his line of work. Please enjoy this Trickshot Montage in MW2

DMA Coming to a Close

too bad the year is almost over. I think probably my favorite project of the year (not surprising) would be the animation one. Or the music video one but that one's not done yet. I can't wait to come back to this next year (although looming blog post pressure I can wait for -.- ).

Goodbye

Well it's been fun AP DMA. This was probably the best class I've taken in my high school career. It has really helped me find a love for art. Next year I will be attending the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Fine Arts. Some tips for you kids taking AP next year; Do your sketchbook assignments throughout the year (and don't do the summer assignment the night before), don't procrastinate your projects, don't forget to post to the blog, and purposely don't talk so your classmates throw a party for you. https://17benakessler.wixsite.com/mysite

HDR Photography

I really liked the HDR photography project we did last week. The way this photography style captures all of the best qualities of the picture is so cool. For my project I went to the powder factory and took pictures of thing I found there. I also went to an empty house on the river. Here are some of the pictures I took while I was at both places.

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!

Yes, it's that time again where everyone inner nerd comes out! So sit back and embrace all of the cheesy puns, glowing light sabers and Storm trooper mask that are out and about! May the 4th be with you!

HDR Photography

We recently explored HDR photography and I thought I'd share my results. I really liked this project because it made colors pop from photos with very few and dark colors. I will definitely be experimenting with HDR photography again.

Old Kings

I took this photograph just recently when we were working on our HDR photos. I think it gives the look of an olden time. Maybe as if it were taken with a point and shoot type of camera.

@above_the_light On Instagram

@above_the_light I recently came across this cool photography account on Instagram called above the light. They usually post cool HDR photos of different landscapes across Ohio. They also use drones a lot to capture great Arial views of cool places in Ohio. They also run a business that will take videos or photos using their drones at your request. It's a pretty cool page that you should follow @above_the_light Here are some of their photos
