Tyler The Creator

In this blog I will be specifically talking about his Flower Boy album cover. This album cover is one of the best I've ever seen. Not only is it really cool, it is also very aesthetically pleasing. It fits Tyler's persona and really puts the whole album together. I really enjoy the editing skills used on it and I think it would be easy to remake using photoshop The songs on this album are also amazing. My favorite ones personally are Glitter and Boredom.

Tinker Hatfield

Back in 1988, arguably one of the most innovative sneakers was released.  The Air Jordan 3, the shoe designed for the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan,  was created by  a designer named Tinker Hatfield.  What made the sneaker so interesting was the incorporation of an air bubble on the sole of the shoe.  At the time, such a design had  never been thought of making it crazy, but at the same time the new hottest thing.  What inspires me the most a bout Hatfield's design is the fact that he was willing to push boundaries and create something that went on to be one of the main features used in many shoes to this day, and all it took was an idea and a person willing to move in a different direction.

Luke Combs

                  Luke Combs Exclusive Album
On September 25 Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, released his new album Tickets to My Downfall. With 15 songs, four features, and an amazing performance by Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, it had major success. I have been listening to it on repeat since its release. It has an old school punk rock, Green Day, Neck Deep, kind of feel and I love that. MGK's success has come in waves but this album has put his road in place and paved a path for the pop punk genre and opened a door for its comeback. Even if you don't like it have to give credit to MGK for what he did. If you haven't yet listened to it I would highly recommend it if you like pop or punk rock.

positions

This past Friday, October 24th, Ariana Grande released her highly anticipated single from her upcoming 6th album, sharing the same name as her introductory single, "positions". The song is currently topping Spotify charts, and is in second place on Apple Music's Top 100, right behind "Forever After All" by Luke Combs. It's very sensual and extremely catchy. The accompanying music video portrays Grande as the President of The United States, in the heat of voting and the upcoming election.

Harry Styles- Golden (music video)

Harry Styles just came out with a new music video for his song Golden and it's so good!! Throughout the music video, I thought it was so cool that I was able to identify the different types of video shots. And what they had to do to get that shot and angle. Throughout the majority of the video, he was running so they had probably had to use a gimbal stabilizer so the footage wouldn't turn out shaky or blurry. This is definitely my favorite song of his. The song is so vibey, mellow, and puts you in a good mood. If you haven't listened to it I would highly recommend it!
I've recently discovered Jeremy Pettis on Instagram from one of my friends and from Tik Tok. He makes fun colorful and funky art. He also makes little animations which are really cute. His art is really abstract and different. I love the colors and doodles he adds because it makes your imagination wander. He also makes little strawberry drawing portraits for his fans which I find really cute and cool. You just have to send him a DM of a picture of you and he'll draw you like a strawberry :)

The Findlay Market

Over the weekend, I went to the Findlay Market in Cincinnati. Along the outside of the market, there were dozens of tents with people selling their own art and food. I was really drawn to one tent that a lady was selling her own handmade rings. They were made with wire and crystals. On the inside of the market, foods from many cultures were being sold. I think everyone should take a little trip downtown and have lunch or just visit the Findlay market because it was really interesting to see.

Senior Pictures

When senior year comes around, so do senior pictures. Hundreds of students schedule their senior pictures most commonly around fall. The photographer uses various lenses to capture them in different ways. I had my senior pictures taken in September and have just gotten them back. I noticed while I was getting them done that my photographer had two different lenses that she was using. One for close-ups and one for faraway images.

Gotham Knights By Ben Shrimplin

Gotham Knights is an awesome video game based off of the Batman movies and comics. I have personally never played a Batman game before but once this comes out I will be one of the first in line. For the first year ever they have made the game multiplayer, this really adds more spice to the game and makes it more enjoyable. You can buy it at https://www.gothamknightsgame.com/en-us By Ben Shrimplin

Rocket League By Ben Shrimplin

Rocket league is personally my favorite game of all time, they have really made it free for everyone. I have been playing rocket league for about 5 years and have got really good. they have recently also just been bought by epic games. I really encourage everyone to look into it and you can go to there website at https://www.rocketleague.com/ By Ben Shrimplin

Caamp Concert

Over the past month, I got the opportunity to go to a concert and it was amazing. It was very weird with corona so everyone had to be 6 feet apart and it was a drive-in concert. This band I saw is called caamp and it was the first actual concert I've ever been to.  It was cool seeing so many different types of people that are from so many different places all interested in one specific thing. One thing that was also cool is that they are from Ohio so they were playing in their home state which was fun to see.

So Done by The Kid LAROI

A new song released this past Friday by The Kid LAROI called "So Done." The song is fueled by a toxic relationship that ended and provides a catchy verse, "I'm done, so done, I'm done with all the games you play." What I really like is the artwork that went with the song. The aesthetic and theme of his artwork is all very similar to an anime style and I enjoy the simplistic style and heavy contrast of shadows.

Legends Never Die

Legends Never Die was the 1st  posthumous album released earlier this year from the late great Juice Wrld. Starting with the cover it is an absolute work of art and did the music on the project justice. It pictures Juice Wrld in a very colorful biome that is only describable as heavenly, which I'm sure is what the artists who made it were going for. The music on the project made for one of my favorite albums of the year, most of the songs are concluded by very whimsical instruments to kind of go along with the heavenly feeling brought for the cover art which really just brings closure to the career and life of Juice Wrld.

Bonfire Lighting Tricks

Bonfires have really cool photo opportunities. I love these low exposure shots because you can play around with silhouettes and lighting which is probably one of my favorite things to do in photography. And for reference the fire was probably 15-20 feet tall, so I had a blast taking these pictures.

Nixeu

I've been spending a lot of time on Instagram this week thanks to the sheer amount of free time I've had. While scrolling through my daily feed, which is typically filled to the brim with art-related posts, I discovered a new artist whose work I've found myself truly astounded by and I'd love to share with you guys. The artist's name is Nixeu. Nixeu is a Chinese artist who is known for creating realistic digital paintings of videogame characters. Here are some examples: I'd highly recommend checking them out! Here is the link to their Deviantart page:  https://www.deviantart.com/nixeu

Soul

Disney Pixar is releasing a new movie called Soul in December 2020! Watching the trailer it looks like such a fun movie with great animations. It reminds me a lot of Inside Out (probably because it is made by the same people lol) From .45 to .55 seconds in the trailer the animations look so cool! I can't wait to see it!

Halloween??

So probably like a lot of other peoplei'Ive seen some pretty interesting costumes for Halloween.  This one being my favorite so far.  But one thing i've noticed is that seasonal stores such as Spirit Halloween have been gaining some popularity recently due to another tiktok trend. The popularity comes from wigs to goth outfits to mike wazowski (shown in the picture above).

Lethal League Blaze is the most interesting fighting game that I haven't played.

Lethal League Blaze is an indie fighting game created by TeamReptile, where the main draw of the game is the unique form of "combat" within the fighting game genre. When a match starts, an anti gravity baseball is placed in the center of the arena. This is the only way to deal damage to a player. The bulk of the combat is trying to hit it and create a chain of hits to increase the momentum of the ball, causing it to fly around the screen extremely fast. The player, however, can cancel all momentum from the ball by bunting it. I can't explain the gameplay very well because it requires a bachelor's degree in trigonometry, which I do not in fact have, but check out YakkoCMN's video about the game to learn more about it (mild language if that's an issue).

rocket league new ownership

Rocket league is a game that has been around for a long time now and it has been a great game for all of that time. It also has a great community with it, but there hasn't been a big change that the game has seen in a while. For a long time there has been talk about epic games buying Rocket League. Just recently Epic did buy rocket league. There is a lot of mixed opinions on this because some people think this will be a good thing and on the other hand some people think that epic will ruin the game by changing it too much just like some people say happened to their most popular game fortnite. Hopefully the game will get more popular because of the choice to make it free to play. The game is really fun but not easy to play. I would recommend playing it.

Nashville Art and Murals

During my fall break, I went to Nashville for the first time. Nashville is known for being a very artsy town, with a lot of murals to see, and buildings painted in funky colors, Nashville is worth the trip!

Lee Bontecou

The work of Lee Bontecou can only be described as incredibly intriguing.  The mix of dark space aesthetic and ominous ambiance creates a feeling of immense precaution yet it is inviting, like a dark cabin in the woods. All of her wall mounted sculptures are welded together and create an illusion of a painting though it is actually 3d.  Every wall mounted sculpture is also unnamed, giving you as an observer creative freedom in interpreting its meaning.   In cultural connection, I see influence in David Lynch's Dune  as seen in the images below. Bontecou Dune I also love her drawings.  She used soot accidentally made by adjusting her oxidization levels on her welder because she saw it as the perfect shade of black she needed to make what she envisioned. I love her work and she's probably one of my favorite if not my favorite artists of all time and I recommend anyone check it out.

Pendulum Painting

While thinking about the different ideas I had for my sustained investigation, I wanted to take a look at what forms of art really drew me in. On of those artistic methods was pendulum painting. The style has gained some followers in the recent past and I dare to say has become a bit mainstream. To paint like this requires very little really. String, a container with a hole/s in the bottom, a canvas, and lots of paint. Once you've found your color palette, you just let the container swing and it creates its own geometric pattern.
