Farewell, DMA 1

Junior year absolutely kicked my butt. But the one class that kept me from completely losing my mind was DMA. So thank you, Mrs. Barnes. Thank you, DMA bunch. Thank you guys for all of the laughs and all of the weird whiteboard drawings. Thank you for the opportunities I was given in this class. Although some of my favorite work wasn't recognized by Scholastics or Governor's, I'm still pretty darn proud of it. But hey, I got to go to nationals for BPA, and that was pretty neat. Going into this class, I was excited for photography and excited for filmmaking, but dreading animation. I still hate animation. My skills as a photographer and a filmmaker have thoroughly increased, and I guess you could say I'm better at animation than I was in intro. But I still hate it. I went into this class expecting to not take AP senior year, because art wasn't what I wanted to focus on in college. Now, that has changed. I found a love for Illustrator and drawing things myself (althou

Farewell DMA 1

Junior year has been the downright craziest. I’m really going to miss Mrs. Barnes, the seniors and those who are leaving our big DMA family. I want to take a moment to thank Mrs. Barnes for just overall being an amazing teacher. She helped us get through so much through the year (not to name names but @missmatthey). I also want to thank everyone in my DMA class. We had so much fun this year. I have so many amazing memories specifically from my class and the people in it. Going to miss the DMA Bunch!!  I’m looking forward to AP DMA and to the new relationships, opportunities and accomplishments that will define my senior year, much as they have defined my junior year. Thank you so much to everyone. Have an amazing summer!!

APDMA Class of 2018

As this year comes to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to send out the web links to the portfolios of the 12 AP DMA Seniors that will be graduating in a few short days.  If you have a minute, take a look at the wonderful work they have created during their time in high school.  These talented students are looking for internships, commissions, networking, and job opportunities that will help them achieve their future career goals.  If you like their work, please contact them directly for your photography, illustration, design, animation, video and film-making needs!  Please forward their portfolios to anyone you know who might be interested in their work. Farewell Post

This year has been a learning expierence. I never dreamt that my artwork would win competitions, be displayed in the case at the high school, or that I would enjoy it. Art was never something I took seriously until this year. Being in this class has given me a new hope, and I plan on attending art school after high school. Even though I learned a lot this year, I look forward to learning more in AP DMA next year. Have a great summer!
I choose this art piece because it looks amazing and have that fantasy feel and the level of details of in this art piece is amazing including the grass and the leaves and the background this artist is really amazing and how the water looks and reflecting the light.

Final Farewell

So this is my last post in AP DMA. I have had some trouble with myself and this class, but I learned a lot and I wouldn't trade my experiences here for the world. I constantly lost concentration on my projects and ended up forgetting a lot in my procrastination and days I was not here. I learned that you should never wait for the day before to even start on a project. ALSO!!! Never forget your sketchbook wherever you go! I made a lot of new friends in DMA and learned how to create art in different ways! So,thanks for all the memories and new inspirations for the next few years to come! :3
I love music, making music for artist and seeing them perform the songs that I made is an amazing feeling.

Music

I like to rap and stuff,So heres a cool pic of me holding a microphone.

Brite Gunner

This is the Brite Gunner. He's pretty cool. Jack uses the brite bomber so when we duo we the Brite duo. 10/10 skin. Would buy again.

snorkel ops

this is the snorkel ops outfit in fortnite. It is a really cool blend of back and blue and orange. The colors really pop and the design team really killed this one. I am the Next NINJA.

Peace

DMA 1 Was solid. I have fond memories of the class and will carry my experiences in the class with me forever. To Mrs. Barnes You’re one of the greatest teachers I have had at Kings. To my classmates thank you for the fun memories #ThomasJamisonIsTheTrueArtGod
I like how the artist show the depth of the view through the work very well. I also like the color the artist chose to use and the style.

DMA 1 Review

Class: DMA 1 Rate: 8.5/10 Take Again? Probably not. Recommend to others? If you have lots of free time, then yes. Overview: DMA 1 was a very fun class to me, I looked forward to coming to class everyday and some projects make me not want to leave the classroom. Although not beng able to take a study hall and being in the room for such long amounts of time was a downside. I learned so much about art and will use the things I have learned in this class for the rest of my life. I have enjoyed Mrs. Barnes very much and will miss this class dearly. Max Out. Peace.

Farewell Post

I loved this class and learned so much about Digital Media Arts. I can't wait to take AP next year.

burj khalifa

I think this is a really cool image of the world's tallest building. Dubai is such a cool area and has many opportunities for cool pictures.

Project Runway designer Erin Robertson

Last week, I watched the season finale of one of my favorite shows, Project Runway. I have always been a fan of this show because they push people out of their comfort zone in hopes to expand their imagination and work with the potential they have o create amazing fashion pieces. The winner of season 15, Erin Robertson, was one of my favorite designers the show has ever been because she wasn't afraid to take risks and be herself even if it posed the threat of her going home. A couple times a season, the show does what is called an "avant-garde" challenge which is used o show the judges what new perspectives and ideas on fashion the designers have. Erin, described the term "avant-garde" as wearable art, which I thought was really cool. Here are a few of her avant-garde looks as well as a few of my favorite pieces from her this season.    Episode 11 "Bold Innovation" required the designers to create an avant-garde look with unconventional materi

gg in the chat

Wow, my last blog post in DMA... life's crazy XD          As much as this class and I did not get along I had a grand old time. From sleeping for two bells straight and cramming at the last second to finish a project to our glorious BPA, I truly had a fun time. This class taught me that waiting till the last day to finish a project is a very poor idea and it also taught me that art is really pretty dope when you actually put effort in. I am not trying to scare anyone taking this class next year making you think you have tons of work and all that jazz, its actually a very easy workload... I am just lazy. If I could give one tip to any future AP students it is that you need to do the summer work ( I did not and my grade struggled for a wee-bit LMAO ). Also, have fun in this class because it is hands down the best class I took in my high school experience.        For anyone that cares about my future plans here they are. Next fall I will be attending Wittenberg University

Final Post

I'm gonna be honest I loved DMA  I can't count how many times I stayed after school for this class I've made great memories and great friends <3

Fortnite season 4

Season 4 of Fortnite just started and the new skins have also come along with it. I think it is necessary to talk about it because the design team for Fortnite is amazing and they do a great job on their skins every season!

End of the Road

If the only thing anyone reads about this post is the first line I just want to say that honestly the only reason I survived AP DMA was because of Mickey Kruse and Chris Stock. There, I said it. OK but otherwise, thank you to both my teachers for giving me the opportunity to enter in so many competitions (WORD TO THE WISE: enter in all competitions you can. There are no losers, just people that don't qualify. And you won't know unless you try. Trust me on this one.) Uhm... I'm not really sure what else there is to say. Use any means necessary to get projects turned in on time (setting a bad example rn), bring headphones, don't forget cameras at home, trust your gut and go with your instincts on projects, and it's really not as hard and grueling as you think it is. If you've survived this long in school, you can do this. Oh right here's a preview of things to come. Y'all'll be fine I promise.
This is some Star Wars digital art that I found. It depicts some iconic characters in the franchise. I really like that the paintings look like they are dripping down the canvas. I think this art is a really cool design.

So Long, DMA 1

I am so glad I decided to take DMA 1 for a multitude of reasons. This year has been full of fun projects, good laughs, and new experiences not like any other in a class here at Kings! The course itself was a great precursor to what I hope AP will be next year: a place, not only to grow in my art and skills, but to have a wonderful time while doing so. I'm very pleased with this year as a whole - in terms of my art and the skills I've learned that I'll forever carry with me. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for my art in AP! -Sarah Giesy PS: I wanted to include some of my other favorite pieces from this year but couldn't find the files on my laptop. This illustrated word will have to do!

Goodbye, DMA!

I'm never going to forget the amazing memories that came with taking DMA. This class provided me so many opportunities that I never would have gotten otherwise. Because of this class, I've made some amazingly talented friends as well as, of course, creating some art that I'm pretty proud of. Thank you so much to Mrs. Barnes and Mrs. Shields for giving me two amazing years (two and a half if you count intro ;) ) that I'm never, ever going to forget. Love forever, Celeste Riddell

Farewell DMA

I have absolutely loved my time in DMA. Because of this class, I found my voice as an artist and gained the skills and confidence I need to be successful in a competitive industry. I have made so many memories in the class and learned so much over the years. I am excited about my future as an Honors Tutorial College media arts student specializing in games and animation at Ohio University. Thank you to especially to my Mom and Aunt Cass for helping me grow as an artist and person. See more of my work at  https://shieldsfe.wixsite.com/portfolio
This is my good friend Ian, I felt like this picture deserves some serious attention because of how well Ian and his shirt blend into the sponsor wall and his glasses with those tender red accents could not have been more perfect for the PBR logo on the wall.

Last Post

I wanted to start with how much I loved this class. I would always put forth as much effort as I could into my projects. I loved meeting the people I met, working on the things I worked on. The best part of it all was the fact that no matter what I liked the projects and the software we used. It was a new experience using the camera, and also I never would have known what Illustrator, Premiere, or any of the cool software's we used were without this class. I got to make a music video, and an animation I liked. I also took some photos I liked. I am so happy I took this class because it helps me show a creative side of me I have a hard time showing elsewhere. -Ann

My Last Goodbye

Its been a wonderful year in AP DMA, I have explored and expanded my horizons in art and in daily life. Its been a ton of fun creating these projects and coming to class in anticipation for news from competitions and seeing the awards. I have seen a big improvement in my creativity and art in DMA. I am happy to say that I have met my goals for this year, with improvement and exploration of expressing myself in my work and learning how to use the software that gives us the tool to do anything that our imagination will let me do. As a Senior I would like to leave advice for the upcoming seniors for AP DMA, and that is never procrastinate, and if you do it at school, you don't have to do it at home. I will drop down some projects that I have done within this year.

HDR Photography

I love the way this photography technique can capture so many emotions in one photo. Particularly, this one gives such a mood and it's easy to feel that.
I'm making a post on graffiti art! graffiti art is probably over done on the blog but it is very interesting to me and see the story of towns and its people and the character it has just through a can of spray paint
