Portal: No Escape

Portal: No Escape  is a must see for everyone, but especially video game fans. There's some really cool stuff with the portal animations! It is based off of Valve's "Portal", which you can see more about Here . If you don't know what this game is like, you really won't understand this video.       The film is directed by  Dan Trachtenberg , who has been directing commercials for the last few years, slowly working towards his feature film directorial debut. In May, he directed a horror short film  “More Than You Can Chew”  for Black Box TV, which got a bunch of people in Hollywood talking. Dan surprise premiered a new short film at Comic-Con, which was met with a standing ovation by the almost packed crowd. The film brings a grounded realism to this sci-fi concept, which is rarely seen in video game movie adaptations. Watch  Portal: No Escape, right above this paragraph if you somehow missed it.

Supakitch and Koralie wall painting

Supakitch and Koralie are two street artists from France who have joined together as a power duo in their craft. Both heavily influenced by Japanese art, their work showcases images of geishas, dragons and other elements of the culture. While much of their art is seen in a busy urban landscape, they’ve also brought their creations to the quiet walls of galleries.

And the new year begins...with concept art!

Aren't these little lorises great?  As we explore new painting features available with our recent upgrade to CS5, I wanted to share some inspiring tutorials by one of my new favorite concept artists, Bobby Chiu.  Bobby's art career started when he was seventeen years old, designing Disney, Warner Bros., and Star Wars toys at Thinkway Toys in Toronto, Canada.  Bobby has since won a number of awards for his independent work.  He presently works as an illustrator for film and teaches digital painting online at Schoolism.com (www.schoolism.com), publishes art books, and works on other top secret projects. Check out his many digital painting tutorials on his YouTube Channel  and examples of his work at Imaginism Studios .
