Kenneth Rougeau Bug Kaleidoscope

An artist named Kenneth Rougeau uses bugs and other nature to create stunning patterns and colors. The true beauty of this work is not seen from a distance. Only from up close can you see that the work is made from intricately placed insects to create a kaleidoscope effect.
I like this picture because of the color and perspective of it. It also has small details such as shooting stars and the sun in the background that shine through.

Yo AZ

I love this picture because it looks very robotic and I love the use of geometric shapes. It doesn't go with the theme of nature and it definitely gives it a different feel. Also I love the pop of one color and it is very eye appealing.

Art

Its a concept art on my favorite anime. I just love how there drawn, you can see that great detail was put into these characters, the color and design for these characters is so cool. The colors, the lighting, and the shadows all really well done.

Illustrator Inspiration

This is an Illustrator portrait of Marilyn Monroe. I love the detail in the hair, how you can see all the shapes that make up the curls, but they aren't the conventional circular curls you would usually think of.  The detail in the face is also really cool, how the shadows follow irregular, wavy patterns rather than typical straight or rounded ones.

Patterns

After changing my concentration idea 87 times I finally decided to stay with one. I'm showing fashion through the seasons and patterns are the focus. These photos shot by Guy Coombes portray what I'm trying to do. There is the illusion that the patterned clothes are blended into the background and I want to include a mix of graphic design, photography and fashion within my pieces.

Baby, now we got Bad Blood.

You all might have seen Punziella's artwork before, she did the pictures of Disney Princesses in modern day outfits, which I thought was really cool so I was looking at what else she created and I found others that I really liked. Taylor Swift's Bad Blood video was advertised with all the different characters, so Punziella took that and used the Disney Princesses, again, as the people in the video. I just thought it was a cool twist and since we're working with illustrator right now it's interesting to see what other artists are doing with it/applications like it.

ABVH

You're all probably familiar with Banksy, so here's artist ABVH who takes Banksy's graffiti and turns it into animations. I love how the artist stays true to the original graffiti, but also adds their own twist and creative vision to the piece, expanding on the story Banksy has already started to create. You can find more of the pieces here .

Frecklez

I think this digital painting was done with excllence. I love how the freckles look like they were done with a coffee stain brush or like a paint splat brush. It makes it look a lot more realistic. The crop of the photo is dramatic and gives an interesting perspective. Overall I think it's very pretty and captures the complexity of humans in such a simple way.
I really like these drawings with a pen. Since you can't erase pen or fix your mistakes it makes these so much cooler because they're so good!

Fruit Animals!

Iv'e gotten a little bit obsessed with fruit lately, and I think looking at fruit in new ways is super interesting. One of which is through carving and creating physical objects, as shown above.

illustrator

Since we're about to start our illustrated portrait of a person of our choice, I've been looking at different styles and examples. I love how drastically geometric this portrait is. Every color change and shadow is detailed. I might try to emulate this style when I go to do my own piece.

Stereotypes vs Reality

Hey guys so for my concentration i am portraying the Stereotypes and the actual way people are in high school. It's my way of showing everyone that to make a fair judgement of someone you have to get to know them, because often times people are not as they are seen

Micheal Jordan

I like this photo because it is painted in lots of detail. You can really relate the color, such as the top of the ball and the way it shadows in the yellow paint into more colors.

Darth Vader and Master Chief Collide

This is a great example of an illustrator vector art with a good collision of Master Chief and Darth Vader made by Justin Maller. Shows the different kinds of art that can be made by putting different shapes together

Back to The Future Illustrations

I thought that this was very interesting how detailed this illustration made in Adobe Illustrator is.

Elvis Presley painting

I love this painting of Elvis! I really love how the artist created this painting of Elvis, it's very detailed especially with the mouth and eyes.

Drawing through the perspective of one's eyes

I really like this drawing because it's so detailed, not just with the perspective of the person through their eyes but their eye in general, it is very realistic. I also love the idea behind this drawing and the tear presents the mood of the drawing.

Poseidon's Girlfriend

Hello. It's me.  So I really enjoyed this artist's process. I think the fact that there were multiple stages to this work makes it that much more beautiful. The colors also make me happy <3 -Mackenzie
Here is my second concentration piece its of my friend Katrina. The Theme for my concentration is tribal face paint on black and white photos with a deconstructed element to them. My first step in starting a piece is researching different cultures and the types of face paint they use for this one, I got my inspiration from native Alaskan tribal paint. After that I take pictures of the model that I'm using for that week, edit the photo till its how I want it and print it out. Then I paint on to the picture and add the different thing to give it that raw look and scan it back in and touch it up.

Yo Az

For my illustrator artist presentation I choose Yo Az he mainly works on animals and people but what stuck out to me was how he makes his work look mechanical or robotic it looks unique to me hope you enjoy his work like I do☺️

MANDALAS

Hey guys! So we started Illustrator this past week in DMA 1 and we were given the task of creating a kaleidoscope. When I started mine, Mrs. Barnes asked me what my theme was, and I said I was just going with the flow. After creating the center of it I realized it was beginning to look like a mandala so here are the pictures that I looked up for the inspiration of my piece!  And here's mine!

colored glass

I really like these photos of what looks to be some sort of a hallway made out of glass. The colors all blend really well and with it being glass, the light is able to shine through and make the colors even brighter and more vibrant. The pattern and texture of all of the glass is also really confusing but creates a diamond like effect on the separate sections of glass that looks really nice.
I really like this artwork by Samuel "Sho" Ho because i like how he uses detail and i also like how he focused on the player more than the background.

OTR murals

Today I was downtown and I saw these murals. I really think it brightens up the city and brings in positive influences. These murals are done by ArtWorks, a creative enterprise that transforms the city with their art. There are 263 people involved and 55 murals spread through out the city.

@theseoutlines

I was on Instagram and found this account (@theseoutlines) and was really inspired. In my concentration I am doing contour line drawings and finding this account has gave me inspiration for how to draw hair in a simple but detailed way.  I just recently started following them but they post about twice a week and I love seeing their pictures on my feed. Here is a link to their account :)
"Photos of kids going to school in various parts of the world" these are pictures that i found to be very strong because sometimes a lot of people complain about little things like the traffic on the way to school and we don't realize how easy we've got it.
