Ratfrens

If you've had the opportunity to get to know me at some point or another, you'd likely know that I have quite the number of pets (14 rats, four sugar gliders, and an axolotl). My pets are simply something I'm very passionate about, and I love talking about them with others! I've recently been on the hunt for rat merchandise and I discovered a small business by the name of Ratfrens that creates things such as stickers, keychains, and pins of small pets (of rats in particular, of course).  Even if you're not exactly a fellow small pet owner such as myself, I'd highly recommend taking a look at their shop! Their work is rather simple, but it's also very unique. Here are some examples of their work: And here is the link to their Etsy shop:  https://www.etsy.com/shop/ratfrens?page=1#items

ios 14 or 19 something idk

Recently a lot of people have been raving about the new ios iphone update. Mostly because of the new ability to customize the home screen on the iphone. People really out here spending hours on making colored layouts and designs just for their home screen.

TikTok

The app TikTok is one of the most popular apps for teens and some adults. People scroll for hours just watching the for you page. It is a place for people to dance, sing, and express themselves. It informs a lot of people on drama and political topics. People have even made houses for popular creators to all collaborate with each other. TikTok has recently been banned which means if you accidently delete it unfortunately you won't be able to get it back.

The Strange and Compelling Art of David Lynch

The art of David Lynch first caught my eye when I originally watched Twin Peaks in Freshman year.  I was intrigued by the strangeness of the red room and the black lodge so I decided I would look at some of his artwork.  The first piece of work I saw by him is simply titled " The couch, the couch, the couch is on fire..." .  This isn't something insane or disturbing like a lot of his other work, but I love it.  Its simplicity inspires one to create meaning and value. While this was my first glimpse into the artistic mind of Lynch, it certainly didn't stop there.  My favorite photograph/ sculpture by David is by far " Clay Head with Turkey, Cheese and Ants" as pictured below. The reason this is so interesting to me is because it is not entirely man made.  The ants are a key component in this piece and only mother nature can provide on that front.  This image would be recycled in Lynch's later revival of Twin Peaks as a component of one of his strange cut

Surfaces album covers

Surfaces is a pop band based out of Texas. There are only two members in this band and they make what I like to call chill music. There cover art for their albums can be described as simple. They use pastel colors in all of their cover art and when you look at a surfaces album you can definitely tell that is theirs by the unique style they have. I also like how their cover art goes really well with the music that they make.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is one of my new favorite games and I haven't even beaten it yet.

In 2017, From Software released their latest game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a game that takes elements from their Dark Souls series and emphasizes stealth and different playstyles. You play as a shinobi who's quest is to rescue and then aid the heir of the dragon heritage, who's blood can bring people back to life, at the expense of other people around you. This serves as both plot and a core function of the gameplay. The game is hard, so you will die, but you can resurrect yourself several times if you choose to. The more you resurrect and the more you die, however, the "dragonrot" sickness begins to plague the NPCs around you, and decreases your chances of retaining EXP each time you die. The stealth elements in this game are an interesting take on the Dark Souls formula, where in Dark Souls you tend to fight anything in your way or try to run past it. Sekiro instead gives you the option to either run in and fight, or bide your time, taking out enemies from the

Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra

I just finished watching ATLA and LOK since they came out on Netflix. Rewatching Avatar was like watching it for the first time again. However, it was my first time watching Korra the whole way through. I had mixed feelings about it at first but it grew on me and I really enjoyed the series. Both shows are now some of my all-time favorites. I have grown to love the art style that is used in those shows. The final Agni-Kai scene in The Last Airbender is truly a masterpiece, and the spirit world in Korra is a real stunning visual. Both shows have really powerful messages for being "kids shows" (no I do not think the avatar series is an anime) which is another reason why I love it so much (thank you Iroh)

ohhappydani

One of my favorite people to follow on Instagram is @ohhappydani because she posts very educational content while making it fun to look at. Her work relates to current events going on in the world as well as motivational. She has 472K followers.

Super Mario 3d All stars

Last week I bought Super Mario 3D Allstars on Nintendo Switch. It has 3 games in one! Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Galaxy. My favorite out of the three so far is Mario Galaxy. This game was $60 which I got at Gamestop. I also got a preorder bonus with some Mario 3D Allstars skins for Joy-Cons. What is your favorite out of these three games?

OFFICEUNTITLED

My brother, Isaac, recently took an intern position at an architecture firm in L.A. called OFFICEUNTITLED. The office itself is stationed in Culver City, Los Angeles, where quite a few of the old MGM sound stages for films were built. Even after looking at the building itself, one can see that OFFICEUNTITLED is a very modernist firm (Picture 1). Most of their work pertains to living arrangements: hotels, lodges, cabins, etc.. I think their work accurately depicts the direction our nation is moving in terms of architecture, and I am excited to see more work from them (and my brother).

What is your favorite Halo game?

The Halo series is one of the most successful and recognizable franchises in videogame history. This year marks the 19th anniversary of the first game (Halo: Combat Evolved). It looks as if Halo Infinite will attempt to take a very different, yet familiar, approach to the gameplay formula. The wait for Infinite has given many members of the Halo Community to look back on all the games and reflect on what elements they liked and disliked. So I'm curious to hear what you all who've played the games think. Which Halo game do you look back on and hold higher than the rest?

Sword Art Online: War Of Underworld Part 2

Well, well it seems that my quarantine obsession ends tomorrow at Noon. What does this cartoonish show have to do with DMA you may be asking? Well for starters the entire show is drawn out and animated (with a small hint of CGI in the more recent episodes) meaning that this entire show revolves around Digital Art! The animation in the ladder half of War of Underworld has been breathtaking and for me, it is a very long term goal to become as good as some of the animators that work on this show at their frame by frame animation style. The Artwork has also taken a huge step up from back when it had first season air on for the first time, which that on an Animation standard wasn't even that bad either. If you are wanting to get into the anime genre I'd recommend it to you if you are into the Fantasy/Sci-Fi vibe that it gives off.

Among US

The game that is taking over the internet (sorry fall guys). This game has a super simple design but in its own way is very charming. The gameplay is super basic yet the entertainment factor is still there. Due to how much drama this game creates in each game its good for youtubers and streamers because of this the exposers of the game is missive and we just see the numbers growing. Doubt the game will stay this big but only time will tell.

The Boys

Lately, I have been obsessed with the show "The Boys". If you like dystopias, this is right up your alley. The movie is about corrupt superheroes and how they are exactly what society should be afraid of. A new episode comes out every Friday, and I'm so excited to go home and watch it!

The New "Travis Scott Burger" Commercial for McDonald's

W ith the release of McDonald's all new "Travis Scott Meal" came the release of a new McDonald's  commercial promoting it.  I found this commercial to be quite interesting as it combines the stop motion video format featuring a Travis  Scott action figure with both his voice, and the meal itself. I have always found stop motion videos very cool, knowing that lots of time and work is required to make slight movements in each shot, making every frame unique in its own way.   Click  here  to view the commercial.

Otto Schmidt- Favorite Comic Book Artist

As an avid comics reader, I see a lot of digital art. One of my favorites is Otto Schmidt. His style is super light and airy, compared to other comics artists. He draws Black Canary from DC Comics a lot who is one of my favorites. He also did a lot the art for Green Arrow Rebirth, which is one of my favorite comic runs. Here's some of my favorite pieces. Here's his website:  https://ottoschmidtart.com/

Sky: Children of the Light

I've been spending a lot of time in an Indie game called Sky: Children of The Light. It's an interactive game where you fly around with other people, and help them get through levels or complete missions. It's a beautiful game, and sometimes I'll just play it to find new scenes that make me stop, and I will just stare at the area. It makes me want to strive to make my art better so that, maybe, I can make nice scenes that other people will stop and look at.
