Words and Art

Christian DeWild      Christian DeWild is a poet and illustrator. His style is very sketchy and usually done with ink to add a touch of "messy" to the piece. Most of his work revolves around Halloween themes. His style also reminds me of old cartoons from the 50's or 60's. DeWild's passion is his career and that definitely shows through uniqueness and variety. Website: www.christiandewildband.com/ Instagram: christiandewild

Cassidy Rae Marietta

I really enjoy her use of vibrant colors and lack of shading within her pieces. The stories that are being told within these are very powerful and it's very interesting how the focal points within these interact with the background.

northern lights

I've always wanted to see the Northerner lights. I really like the way the artist blends the coolers of the lights and the night sky.

Crazy Cake

I found this picture of a cake in my Instagram feed and I was stunned to find out that it was a cake! At first glance I thought it was shaped and decorated rock of some sort, but it's actually a cake. The blended color scheme is really dazzling and unique from the typical design of a cake. Also, the color scheme makes the icing look polished and almost nothing like icing. Over all this is a really creative and cool cake!

Some Spectacularly Spooky Special Effects

In celebration of spooky season, I've been binging some Halloween themed videos on YouTube. I started going down a hole of special effects videos and this one just blew me away: It's truly amazing how much time and effort Jaclyn had put into this makeup! Her ability to recreate a sculpture of her face on a latex base is truly incredible, along with the contour put in the machine part of her face.

Matt Ferr

Matt Fee is a photographer, creative director & content creator. I really like his photographs because he incorporates amazing landscapes. His videos are also very beautiful and inspiring.

Red Dead Redemption 2

A game that came out just today, on Friday the 26th. As a pre orderer of this game, I had the opportunity to play Red Dead Redemption 2 a day earlier, and let me tell you, it's a solid 10/10. Ranging from the Wild West, to the Great Plains, to even the Rocky Mountains, this game is by far the biggest I've ever played. Taking place during the end of the Age of Outlaws, Arthur Morgan and the rest of his gang will do whatever they can to ensure the survival of their gang. This means: bank heists, horse riding, hunting, robberies, and good ol' rootin; tootin' cowboy shootin'. GET THE GAME.

Steve Cutts animations and Illustrations

Steve Cutts is an illustrator and animator from the UK. Steve is very good at portraying the corruptions of our society nowadays.

Cake

My sister and I always are amazed when watching cake videos. It's such an art and science. Little kids can get so excited when they see their favorite character in cake form, two things kids love most, the perfect duo. Unfortunately in my sister and I's attempts they never turn out like Cake Boss', I guess we will leave the baking to the professionals.

Senior Pictures

I have had the opportunity of taking multiple of my friends' senior pictures over the past two years. Photography is a hobby of mine and it's even more fun when I can put it to use to help those I know! It is a different kind of challenge to be able to style, model, and photograph living subjects - a challenge I enjoy and take with stride. My last session was with a good friend of mine, Sarah Silva. I included some of my favorites from our session below...

Odyssey

Not long ago I got a video game called Assassins Creed Odyssey, Every year around the same time the company called UBisoft comes out with an Assassins Creed game. What I find incredible is the size of the world you play in when playing the game. Its so huge and they put so much detail into it that its hard to believe they do it all in one year. Here is an example.

Underdogs Photography

The Underdogs Project was a photography-based animal welfare campaign. It shows adorable pictures of different dogs of all shapes and sizes from underneath. These photographs were taken from underneath a sheet of glass to get this creative affect.

I thought that the way this was shot was really interesting and it looked really cool. If the embedded link doesn't work, I copy and pasted the vimeo link as well. https://vimeo.com/136944197?scrlybrkr=30438bba

Greta Van Fleet Album

This is the new album cover from the band Greta Van Fleet.  I love their music and the new art on this album is really awesome.  It really captures the essence of the album which is something that is hard to do.

Test Drive

This is the music video for the song, "Test Drive"  by Joji.   I really enjoy the different shots used throughout this video, and how easily you tell how much emotion and effort was put into the making of this video and song.
This past week, I came across several pictures of very cool stained art. Stained art is colored glass that is crafted into stained glass, that allows light to pass through making very cool patterns and shapes. This allows many windows to be very colorful and creates very cool designs. Stained glass is mostly found in significant buildings, or cathedrals. Here are some pictures...

Finger Gun- Photo Manipulation

Photo manipulation is one of my favorite digital styles and this is a good example of it. The original photo was manipulated to show the the tip of the finger being used as a bullet. The blood effect is also well done and makes it seem even more real.

Times New Romance

Sheena Liam creates beautiful portraits through embroidery.  I think her work is amazingly beautiful and expressive, despite it's simple design. You can visit her and her work at: https://www.timesnewromance.net/

Thomas Schutte

Thomas Schutte is a contemporary German artist, based in Dusseldorf. His work mainly focuses on social and political issues, in many different mediums. His work is just fantastic, and I've been inspired by him for a long time. This piece is called "G röße Geister" (Big Ghosts). I love the way he crafted these silhouettes; the distortion is fascinating and the material he used (Aluminum) only makes this piece stand out. Even just the emotion Thomas was able to craft though just the body position is phenomenal.

Faces of Fortitude

Faces of Fortitude is a project created by my outstanding aunt, Mariangela Abeo. This project lays a foundation of healing through portraits of those affected by suicide and mental illness. I highly recommend looking into this project asap. You can find more information on her Instagram or her website. Instagram @facesoffortitude http://facesoffortitude.com/

Sol Art Studio

Sol Art Studio is a tattoo studio that I found through Instagram. This tattoo studio is in Seoul, Korea. The artists in this studio create tattoos that are very subtle and delicate. The pieces are mainly inspired by watercolors and nature. I love how simple and minimalistic the tattoos are but yet they have lots of details.   Instagram: @studiobysol

Voices of Haiti

Anyone who knows me knows that I love photography and that I love the country of Haiti. Photographer Jeremy Cowart has a complete photo essay titled "Voices of Haiti". He went down after the earthquake in 2012 and used his talent to capture raw moments. I love his ability to tell a story with a single photograph. Even when his pictures are taken on the spot without much prep, they illustrate a beautiful story that tugs on your heart strings.

Liz Climo

Liz Climo is a cartoonist who draws the absolute cutest little comics. I found her via my Instagram explore page, and I have since stalked her account to find some of my favorite cartoons to share with everyone. Hopefully this brings you some joy. You can find her on Instagram as @lizclimo, and she's on tumblr as well. :)

Alayna Danner

Alayna Danner         Alayna Dinner is digital artist who mainly creates concept landscape drawings. In her artwork she often plays with the contrast of light and shadow. Her landscape paintings are often fantasy-based, and give off a mystical feel. She beautifully illustrates everything from the clouds in the sky to the waves in the water.
I found this really cool video of a pumpkin being carved by sculptor Jon Neill. It is super crazy that you can make look something look so real through art. Although he uses some paint to make it look more scary and a better visual, it really looks like something is coming at you. Definitely one of the best carvings I have seen, and creepiest too.
Took these pictures a week ago during class; thought they looked pretty cool. It was a stripped screw from engineering.

Partly Cloudy Pixr

This Pixar short film is very emotional and has great storytelling without the use of words. Pixar's animation is also incredibly fantastic in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DmLkugdh9s&t=0s&list=WL&index=3

Spider Verse

The New Spider Man animated movie is on the rise and for sure something to keep an eye out for. Being the first big Spider Man movie to be an animated film is exciting not only for the creators but us the fans. This is not only cool and interesting but it opens a lot of doors for new and incredible story lines on the big screen.  Spiderman - Into the Spider-Verse

Venom Movie

Venom is a brand new Marvel movie and has gotten some pretty good reviews. I wanted to show the trailer because the editing in this movie is insane. There are almost no mistakes and the transitions are very smooth. I can't wait to see this movie!!!
