Cassette Tape Art

So this is something I just discovered today and I would love to learn more about.  The artist takes the tape out of a cassette and uses it to form the person's outline and hair.  I love alternative mediums, and Erika Iris is one who uses a lot of them to create art.  Take a look at her website  http://iri5.com/tape-art/  to see more cassette tape art as well as some other amazing pieces made from different materials.

Richard Dunn - All By Myself

Alex Egan here! Now that DMA classes are working on music videos, I was able to find this! I think the fact he is filming this, alone, in an airport is hilarious! Using just an iPhone.
So I found this photograph just somewhere on the internet. I find it really interesting because it is really dramatic, making you think what is going on in this photo. I like how it is in Black and White because it makes the world they are "living" in seem bleak.  I also find the after affects that make the photo seem older.

So Bye Everyone

So it looks like I'm (somehow) graduating in a few weeks. Its been a crazy year and DMA has been great. My concentration focused on snakes and peoples interactions with them, and I had a lot of fun working with everyone and getting to watch some of them face their fear. The future is a little uncertain, but I do know I had a fantastic two years of DMA, and that I don't wanna leave. Thanks for a great two years everyone.
https://vimeo.com/59179537 This is a short, cute animation about a guy and a girl that fall in love. It was a subject that we talked about for our music videos. We also just finished Flash Animations so it fits both projects!

Crazy Woman

This is a series by   Marko Köppe called "Crazy Woman".  A search for the artist will pull up pieces similar to these, but I really enjoyed this series.  The mix of different medias really stands out and makes for an interesting composition.  The last two are the same base picture with a varying edit, and I thought it was cool how different the pieces look even with the identical feature.

Penelope

We just finished up doing our animations in class. As much as I struggled with flash and it was a pain in my "you know what," I enjoyed developing a character and making a story about her life. This is my movie poster from my package.

Recent Favorites

Hey guys. Ive been browsing around the internet trying to find some photographs that might give me a few ideas for my next project. My go-to website to find professional photographs online is called  https://500px.com/ . I highly encourage everyone to check it out sometime. You'll definitely find something you'll like. By the way, all of these photos belong to their rightful owners..

Goodbye

Hello everybody! My name is Leslie Bonzella and I'm about to graduate. My concentration this year consisted of my beautiful, crowned feminist ladies. I wanted to represent women in power. I loved creating this year, and I'm so thankful to have had this year as a foundation for my future in the creative field. I am attending UC college of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP). I'm so excited and I will see you all soon. Thanks for putting up with my stubborn ways, and thanks for a great 2 years of DMA. lesliebonzella.wix.com/leslie
First time for me animating someone juggling hope it turns out good.

Beautiful HDR Photography

So, for my redo project for AP DMA I chose to try HDR photography again. In doing so I came across photographer Denis Bodrov from Ukraine, who has taken some absolutely stunning photos. If you're interested in checking out more of his work, you can find him by clicking here .

Not my best piece but still humorous

This, as terrible as it may seem, was my subject piece for light photography. I like this photo because of the many different facial expressions. It also helps that they are silly and humorous.

BORDERLESS TATTOOS

MY NEWST OBSESSION, BORDERLESS TATTOOS. But seriously, they're beautiful and they are so unique and I love that there is such an artistic touch to them. SO IN LOVE.

Kat (Chuwenjie)

The images above are by Chuwenjie (Kat) on deviantart. I enjoy her art and I find it absolutely beautiful. The shading on their artwork is amazing and adds so much detail. Each image gives off such emotion and tells a story of someone's life. She is 18 and everything she does blows me away. If you'd like to see more of her work go here .

Earth Day Face

I love this picture and since today is Earth Day, it fits perfectly. I love how the colors of the eye complements the earth makeup on the model. I like the shadows and the detail in the makeup. And really love how the model is like staring into your soul..
For any artist that doesn't know who the notorious banksy is look him and his work up and read all about him he is a legend in the street art world and always will be.
This is an animation I saw on Youtube and thought it was really cool considering everything was made in flash! I like how he edited the emojis to give them different emotions than when they started. You can visit their Youtube channel  here

Double Exposure

Hey guys! Just wanted to share this cool double exposure picture I found on Pinterest. First off, the different tree designs really stood out to me. The different shades of reds and greens on the trees can represent the seasons changing which I thought made for a very interesting photo. I also liked how you could only see the face and how it looks like it's almost shadowed by the trees. The designs of the trees over the blue sky making up the rest of the body was also a very unique concept and made great contrast.   ~ Corinne

Original Inhabitance

Just a cool way of looking at a busy city scape and drawing attention to the nature, as well as making it abstract with patterns.

Flash Animation

The last week and a half, we have been working with Flash. We are currently working on a 30 second animation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAcl3aYD4x8 galaxy paintings are actually pretty easy and fun, I watched this video before I did my first one.

Sailor Jerry

When thinking about tattoos, I always lean towards the traditional ones, like Sailor Jerry's artwork. His pin up girls are great too! Check them out

Narrative Music Videos

Since the project coming up soon in my DMA class is to create a music video I thought I would share this video. David Guetta created a fantastic plot line for his song Dangerous. It is a long music video coming in at just over seven minutes but the story told is so detailed and you feel like you just watched a movie at the end.
This photo really caught my eye and made me think twice. I thought it was interesting because of the reflection and it also works with today's weather. I could also relate this style of art to the 'Me Myself and I' portrait.

mini paintings

I was on stumbleupon.com  and I found this amazing artist who creates mini paintings! It's amazing how she is capable of adding so much detail so such a small painting. She has been creating these as part of a 365- challenge that she hopes to continue and finish this year. You can view more of her paintings here.

Splatter Photography

This is one of my recent projects that we have done. It was a lot of fun to create, and had to take a lot of action shots. Which isn't that easy to do all of the time. I had a lot of fun with it, and may create another one.
My mom loves hummingbirds so every time I see them I think of her. I love how beautiful the watercolor makes them look.
This is how I felt after reading my fan letters. This is why I continue to do art, and it is an amazing feeling to read what people at our school think about our art.
Since we are doing animations i thought that this was appropriate. It shows how to make a figure run with each individual scene. although its simple, it shows the how to make a successful running man.

Reusing Animation

Hey guys! So, I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that sometimes, to save time while animating new Disney movies, the animators would reuse old animations from previous movies and change the characters/settings accordingly. I'm not sure if this is really true, but we all know animation takes a long time to perfect, so I'd see why they'd do this! I just thought it was cool. The pictures above are examples.
