Modle Sheet

We just got finished making model sheets in class and when I was looking for examples, this one really stood out to me. I really like all the details put into his eyes, hair, and sweater. I also really like how you can tell what the character is going to be like.

Hoppy Easter

ok guys so easter is like right around the corner and to get us all in the mood, because I know you all will be checking this blog all the time, I am posting this very artsy picture of a BUNNY!
I'm sure summer is all people can think about right now. (Then again its hard to think about it when its 38 degree's out) I really like HDR photos. They make things just stand out! Its incredible. I like that I can see the water, the bike, the pier, and the sand all in one shot! -A.F.E.

Autumn In Red

I love how this photo catches the unknowing road that is put before us. The red leaves against the cool blue background is appealing also. The photograph shows leading lines with the trees and the path.

Miami Valley Tech Prep Showcase

Joey Cornell, Avery Porcelli, Mackenzie Mettey, Emily Hoyle, Morgan FitzGerald, Abbey Ketterer, Anthony Mussari, and Emily McCarthy Congratulations to our two DMA teams for being selected to compete in the Miami Valley Tech Prep Showcase. The team of Morgan FitzGerald, Emily Hoyle, Abbey Ketterer, and Mackenzie Mettey was awarded Champions in the Media Arts Category.

Ed Ruscha

This is Ed Ruscha's work. He combines simple typography with some sort of background. He also does other various forms of art, but I really enjoy his simplistic pieces. The phrases sometimes seem almost random and nonsensical, but often have some sort of deeper meaning. Here's  a Google search showing a bunch of his work.

Light Graffiti

I just found this amazing light graffiti piece and I thought you all might like it. This looks like a lot of chaos took place within a very short amount of time, but the outcome is impressive.

Adventurous HDR

Ventured out to the Power Factory about a week or so ago and got some awesome HDR shots and decided to share a few of my favorites. It's a very spooky, eerie, terrifying, and dangerous place... But at least to me it was well worth the risk. Hope you guys like them :D

Eyes on You

I am really fascinated with eyes. Especially animal eyes, I love the way there are different shaped pupils and color designs.
Here is the King Cuo.  The face of the long lost world of called Slloopo.
Hello. I found these pics of Pitbulls wearing flower crowns and thought they were adorable. They also have a deeper message. It is the common misconception that Pitbulls are mean and vicious dogs but they are actually really sweet. The fact that these pics show such a "vicious" animal wearing sometimes so fragile and sweet makes me happy :)                                                                       ~Mackenzie

Casey Neistat

About 2 years ago, I found a film maker named Casey Neistat on YouTube. He makes movies about anything and makes a story out of it. He has a very specific style that I would love to recreate for my time-based piece. Check out his narrative on Snapchat, very funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKSr6h5-fCU

All these paintings are by blind painter John Bramblitt's, who relies on touch and texture to create stunningly vivid paintings

**please note this artist wasn't born blind he merely lost his vision

Vector Portrait Hair

I love the way that these artists used lines and highlights to draw the hair on their portraits. All the pieces have very different styles but they all show great detail on the hair, making the figure look very realistic.
This video is the making of a Asian car commercial. The commercial was made using light graffiti animation. Its amazing, I cant imagine the time and thought put into this animation.(if video dose not start automatically, click  here )
This video has a really cool concept and I think it was really well done. I want to learn how the creator can make one person be slow motion and the rest of the video be in regular time. It is done perfectly. https://vimeo.com/100656498

Mountain Man

I really like how this picture shows the sizes of the mountains and of the man. I like how the lines of the road draws your eyes towards the center of the picture.

Alive Portrait

This is an image I found on the internet looking at vector images. It is a really cool portrait that adds to the photo. I like the idea of adding an extension to the person in the image. It gives the photo an alive feeling.
I love Mac Demarco and I love this illustration. If you don't know who he is, he is a guy that sings songs about people and love and everything beautiful and sad at the same time. I highly suggest you take a listen.
This is my light graffiti that I made this year. I really like the way it turned out. I just used a whisk tied to string and filled the whisk lightly with steel wool.
In these the pictures the fire is substituted with water, which is the complete opposite. I think that it's really cool that someone can photoshop these pictures to twist and turn what we see.

Surrealism is the Best 'ism'

Hellllooooooo. I forgot to blog last week (sorry Mrs. Barnes haha) but I find these pictures interesting mostly because they make you think, and really envaluate what you're looking at. Surrealism in general forces me to look at art and photography in a different way.

Original Animation Mediums

Just some different mediums with animation. Could lead to some original ideas. Full videos and more examples are on the link. Enjoy. http://www.oddee.com/item_97864.aspx
This was an HDR photo I took outside in the courtyard.  I was walking back and I saw this really cool icicle frozen around a water drain and I just felt like I had to take a picture which I did
