2019 and 2020 Final Four Logos

With all the NCAA basketball this week it’s hard to not notice the new logo for the upcoming Final Four in Minneapolis.  While looking at the logo online I found  this article  explaining why the designers created the logo the way they did and the process behind the creation.  I thought this was really cool and that I would share it.

Patterns of Fashion

Recently, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of historical fashion. I love it, I think the construction is beautiful, and so much more. From that deep dive, I’ve found a wonderful writer and illustrator by the name o Janet Arnold. She’s written this series called Patterns of Fashion, that walk you through how to reconstruct and recreate these historical gowns and clothing. I think it’s fascinating work, and deserves more attention due to the applications this work has, for example theatre and film productions. I think it’s wonderful and fun to learn about, especially when recreating a certain era for a film or photograph.

Captain Marvel

Yesterday, I saw Captain Marvel in the theaters. The graphics of the movie were very cool and interesting, it is really crazy to think all of work goes into editing and creating the film. I would 10/10 recommend this movie.

Kanye at his Kanye best, is better than the Kanye rest

https://www.youtub e.com/watch?v=PsO6ZnUZI0g The video for Stronger - Kanye West shows a super cool artistic look into the future throughout the whole entire video. I also really like the album covers art of space with the teddy bear.
I found this on Pinterest and I thought it was cool how they made a 20 sided die that's used for Dungeons and Dragons look like a dragon.

Happy Tails Portraits

Maxi is a graphic designer based in Germany who specializes in pet portraits. Her commissions have an extremely unique, dream-like aesthetic to them. I have created many pet portraits over the years so I am very drawn to finding different techniques, styles and twists to a traditional portrait. Check out the Happy Tails Portraits website for more! https://www.happy-tails-portraits.com/home

Brad Heaton Photography

Brad Heaton is a photographer who is known for being the photographer for singers. Some of those singers include Twenty One Pilots, Steve Aoki, Jon Bellion, Fall Out Boy, and more. I think his photos are very interesting in the way he does black and white photography as well as colorful but grainy photos.

Kids See Ghosts

This is the cover art for the album "Kids See Ghosts". I think it looks super cool and I love the color choices and the style of art.  Created By: Takashi Murakami

Medieval Masterpiece

I like this medieval art it perfectly describes my life. The face he makes is amazing, and his bowl cut is legendary.

Fire Emblem Three Houses

Fire Emblem Three Houses will be planning to release on the Nintendo Switch on Friday, July 26, 2019. This will be the first Fire Emblem game to release on console in about a decade since Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn . Unlike past games, where you (the avatar) is a tactician leading an army of units, Fire Emblem Three Houses brings a twist to this by making you, the player, a teacher to a diverse body of students coming from three different countries on the continent of Fodlan. The Houses of each country are the Black Hawks, the Blue Lions, and the Golden Deer. Sounds like Harry Potter in my opinion, but this will definitely be a unique addition to the franchise. I like some of the character designs in this game, but most of them are students wearing the same generic uniform.

Daria Hlazatova

Daria Hlazatova is an artist that I found on Instagram. She mainly draws creative portraits, and I think they are really beautiful. Her use of pattern to fill up space is really interesting and her use of color is very intentional.

Fry Box Art

Painted pop art fry boxes are becoming a popular trend. Usually made with acrylic paints, some use sharpie markers.
Work done by ygafilm. A Creative based out of New York Working with Asap Rocky and the creative group known as AWGE. Challenging the norms of Photography, Art, and Video.  YgaFilm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za3_7VW2Wv8 This is called a digital speed painting.  Speed painting  is an artistic technique where the artist has a limited time to finish the work.  Digital  media artists primarily use  speed painting  to practice working quickly and efficiently. With limited time, the attention to detail in this peice is amazing. Below the image is a 6 minute video on how the painting was created, check it out!

Intro Animation

(click  here  to see the video on youtube) I recently started a new show on Hulu, and the intro animation is really cool!

Muriel Margaret

Muriel Margaret is a 21 year old photographer and visual artist based in the midwest. I learned about her through a friend of mine, and I absolutely love her work. Specifically, I love her mixed media work. It inspires me to create more collage and mixed media style work. Here are a couple of my favorites from her, and you can find more of her art on her website: https://murielmargaret.com

Alan Becker

This animation was done by a youtuber named Alan Becker who has made many others using the same stick figure characters. The detail and time put into each one is amazing! A 14 minute long animation that took him months to make with help of many other animators, using the same program we use in class.
Alexandra Chertulova Recently, I came across an artist on Instagram named Alexandra Chertulova. She is based in Russia and is known for her surrealist photographs. She takes concepts that seem impossible, and uses her photographs to create their own world. Her work is very eye-catching and often makes you stop and think. If you want to see more of her work, her instagram handle is @chertulova

Rising Sea Levels and Art

Two Finnish artists, Pekka Niittyvirta and Timo Aho, created this expansive work in association with the Taigh Chearsabhagh  Museum and Arts Centre along the western coast of Scotland. The line of lights show where water will rise to if climate change causes more ice to melt. The museum wanted to showcase how their current location could be flooded within decades if the global temperature continues to rise.   Full Article+More Pictures

Moonlight

These are shots from the Barry Jenkins film "Moonlight." I had never watched this movie because of how mad I was it beat La La Land for best picture at the Oscars in 2017, but after finally watching it I understand the reason it won what it did. The cinematography is unbelievable. James Laxton, the cinematographer for this film, did a great job of utilizing close up shots. This is a similar technique that was mastered in Barry Jenkins other film "If Beale Street Could Talk."

Nausicaa: of the Valley of the Wind

Recently I picked up a collection of the graphic novel Nausicaa. Going in I knew it was going to be incredible because it was written and illustrated by Studio Ghibli. The same people who made Spirited Away , Princess Mononoke , etc. All masterpieces of animation and storytelling. Nausicaa however was the only full feature film that was first a graphic novel and then a movie. The movie is great however the books are far Superior with some of the greatest hand drawn illustrations I've ever seen not to mention the story is so much longer and more detailed than the movie.
This is a short video of some cool animations I found on youtube. I like the how much attention the artist gave to the detail of the animals movements and colors. This is a really cool video!

Animation Trailer

I saw a new trailer for the new animation called Wonder Park created by paramount pictures. Looking at this trailer after starting our animation project made me realize how much work actually goes into an animation movie. This movie specifically is very detailed and it shocks me how much time it would take especially considering that it takes so many frames to even make one second of movement. I would imagine the team that made this would have to have been huge to add this much detail into the background and the characters. Here is the link for the trailer:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I227guYCtzg

H1Z1 Revert

H1Z1 Battle Royale which is currently getting its name changed to Z1BR is working on recreating the old look and feel of the game because it has been ruined by bad updates by the company that owned the game previously. The team is working on recreating the old lighting, textures, and the movement/ animations which are really what gave the game its feel. The right picture is the progress the team has made to make the game look more like it used to. They are also adding the old tree textures.

Into The Spider-Verse

Into The Spider-Verse was the best animated film of last year and one of my favorite things about it was the animation style.  This video takes a look at how the animators decided to make the film stand apart from other recent animated movies. The choice of style was dictated by the characters' progress in their emotional journey and I found it very fascinating how they paid homage to the comics in their own unique way.

Brighton Galvan

Recently I came across a photographer on Instagram named Brighton Galvin. He is a self taught photographer who is based out of Santa Barbara, California. His work centers around exploring combinations of colors and lights. The vibe of his photography stood out to me because of how dreamlike and mystic it is. I will include his Instagram below. His work is definitely worth a follow!  Instagram: @brightong

Currently There is a structure of segragation and oppression between two races, humans and arcanics. The arcanics living under the rule of humans using there power and and abilities out of greed.
