3D Modeling

Ever since BPA and the computer modeling section, I have adored 3d modeling and using Mudbox and other programs related to that such as Blender. I wanted to show a view examples of 3D modeling that I thought were cool or well done - whether simplistic or extremely detailed. I just love computer modeling and hope to take up doing it more often during my spare time. Maybe this will get others into computer modeling, too!

Light Calligraphy

Julian Breton is a self taught artist that does amazing light calligraphy. He uses a variety of tools to create his images, ranging from light sabers to key-chain flashlights. I love how he mixes his intricate and detailed symbols with stunning backgrounds. The symbols he uses are usually Arabic, Latin, or a mixture of both. Overall amazing, detailed, and precise works of light photography!

Light Graffiti With Smartphone

I have recently discovered that you're able to take amazing long exposure pictures with light apps from your smartphone. It's a very simple process that only requires your phone, a tripod, and a camera. Here are some examples:
Brandon Woelfel is a photographer who has started to make a name for himself especially over social media platforms like instagram and twitter. All of his portraits look very similar and experiment with different lighting sources. He posts a lot about different techniques he uses and different perspectives on his photos which is really interesting, but I always love seeing his before and after photos. It shows that being a good photographer isn't 100% about actually taking the picture, but a lot of what you can do in photoshop after can make or break a photo. He says he takes all his photos in camera RAW so that he has the maximus editing potential, which is apparent in these! I love that all of his pictures use similar cooler tones. I am always impressed when I see how drastically he changed the picture to match his style!

Old Cartoon Artist

I just wanted to make a post dedicated to this artist I follow on DeviantArt by the username of DAFusionFall. They do art of mostly cartoon characters from old Cartoon Network shows such as Ben 10 Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends Codename: Kids Nextdoor Dexter's Laboratory and many more. I am a very nostalgic person (if you didn't know already) and I love their art style - how they make old characters look slightly more realistic and they kind of have a way of breathing new life into these guys. If you want to check out more of their art, you can find them  here!

Migos

In honor of the new Migos album that was just released, i wanted to reflect on how their album cover represented good modern art in the rap community today. With different Photoshop elements representing a variety of meanings in their album, from things like "Bad and Boujee" (ft. Lil Uzi Vert) to "T-Shirt" to "Get Right Witcha". That these songs can be interpreted  in their album art and that it shows how they express their art. Also how they dress expresses what kind of art they portray and how it gives a view to people about what kind of style they want to express.  What? Yahhhhh

Illustrating Characters

Usually after I finish a book I enjoyed, I like to go onto Pinterest to look for fan art. These five pieces are fan art of a book series called "The Raven Cycle" by Maggie Stiefvater. They are done by an artist called Phantom Rin, and if you have read the books you would know that these drawings capture the characters very well. I think it would be an interesting project to do in Illustrator or Photoshop painting: taking a character from a book, movie, or tv show and creating a drawing that captures the personality, description, or likes/dislikes of the character. Also, I think it would help with learning/practicing how to capture a story in a drawing by having to describe the character in a single picture.
This is a cool painting I found on the internet of a girl staring back at the viewer. This Portrait is called the Mona Lisa and it is very Iconic. She was married to Francesco Del  Giocondo. I like the background of this painting and the faint colors that are displayed. I would like to go back in time to paint this as the original painter because I could easily do a better job at it. Other than that I like the way the painter made sure the background didn't take away from the person and main focus.

Laia Lopez

I found an artist name Laia Lopez on Pinterest and Instagram and I love her illustrative style. People/characters are her subject and I love the pastel color schemes and the soft curvy lines she uses. I also love how each character/portrait has a unique style and story. If you want to see more of her work, her instagram is itslopez. Click here to see her website!

The Microsoft Surface Studio

Tailing off of Mrs. Shields hype over the studio I wanted to introduce you all to a great Youtube channel called  Linus Tech Tips . They create fantastic videos on all sorts of tech from reviewing the newest computer hardware to an entire guide on which dashboard camera you should buy. They are phenomenal and they made a spectacular review of the brand new Surface that Mrs. Shields is drooling over. Luke and Linus do a great job giving you the pros and cons of the machine as well as making it a pleasure to watch, which you can do right here!

Hubcap Animals

The artist who made this piece has been doing this for 12 years. He turns abandoned hubcaps into amazing animal sculptures. I think this is cool because it takes something from nature and replaces it with modern materials like metal. It's cool art and a good way to recycle. You can see more on his website here : http://mymodernmet.com/ptolemy-elrington-hubcap-sculptures/

Beta fish tails

I thought this was really cool, because of the creativity of the photo manipulation, of these pictures. And how each color coordinates with something else in the ocean such as coral. And I thought it was really pretty, making the beta fish look like kings and queens of the ocean.

@katikaart on instagram

This is an artist I found on instagram that goes by the username katikaart. I love her crochet technique and the details in her pieces are amazing. I love how she uses bright interesting colors to help captivate the viewer and give off emotion. What really stands out to me though is how she leaves the threads dangling leaving an unfinished look to her work.

Matoma

I find Matoma's album art style very interesting. I enjoy the way he uses lines and colors to make different images but they all have the same style that make them familiar. Here are a few examples of this work.

Glow in the dark Hair

There are so many new ways to express personality through how you look. One way to do this is through your hair. Coloring hair takes a lot of skill and precision. This hair stylist uses bright colors and glowing dyes to create glow in the dark hair. Here are some of his glowing hair and other colorful dyes he has done. This is a video of his glowing hair-  https://www.instagram.com/p/BMhBfALBCQ8/?taken-by=guy_tang

3D Painting

I found this a while ago, I think it's fascinating how much detail can make it look so real.

Colorful Animal Illustrations

An artist named Claudine O'Sullivan is a very talented artist when it comes to drawing with colored pencils. She is truly an inspiration of mine and I get many of my drawing ideas from her. Here is an example of some of her work:   Link to her website
