Shinjuku & Conveyer Belt Sushi

I am staying in a part of Tokyo called Shinjuku. Last night we went out for Sushi.  All of it traveled around on a conveyor belt and and you know the price based on the color of the plate.  You just pull off the plate you want!  Yum!

Heading back to Tokyo

Today I leave beautiful Minamata and head back to Tokyo.  The food has been amazing.  This was the lunch made for us yesterday.

Minamata

Here I am with 11 other teachers and the City officials of Minamata.   Minamata  is a city located in  Kumamoto prefecture ,  Japan .  Minamata is known worldwide due to  Minamata disease , a neurological disorder caused by mercury poisoning. The disease was discovered in 1956.  A local chemical plant was blamed for causing the disease by emitting untreated wastewater to the Minamata Bay. Lately, Minamata has focused on becoming a model environmental city. In 1999, the city obtained the  ISO 14001  certification for Environmental Management. In 2001, Minamata became an official Japanese Eco-town. In 2004 and 2005, Minamata won the Japanese Top Eco-City contest.

Lunch

Mmmmm, sea snails!  I ate these guys at lunch in Tokyo a couple of days ago.  Tastes kind of like squid, kind of like chicken. Lol

Kon'nichiwa

Hello from Japan!  It is my 5th day in this beautiful country. The photo above was taken at the Yude Hot Springs area near Minamata in the Kumamoto Prefecture.  I've been in Tokyo since June 19th and I will be in Minamata for four more days and then head back to Tokyo.  I am having an amazing time and I can't wait to share more, but the 13 hour time difference is catching up to me and I'm going to bed.  Sayonara!

GOSH DARN THIS THING IS HEAVVVVYYYY!!!!!

Went out to my mailbox and found this little gem in there! Couldn't and wouldn't have done it without you Shields!!!

MRS. SHIELDS PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!

Mrs. Shields do NOT buy the t5i. You'll understand when you watch this video. Please watch and save yourself the hassle. The t5i is basically identical to the t4i. The only difference is that the mode dial can do a full 360 degrees. That's it. Get magic lantern instead! If you haven't watched anything on that yet check out the end of this video. You're welcome in advance. -Jerod

THANKS AGAIN!!!

Mrs. Shields from all of us, wherever we all are, thank you for a great year(s). I really do look forward to the future, but i'll always be looking to the past. Not only just reminiscing, but taking everything I learned from your class and using it to my advantage. We ALL appreciate everything you ever did for us (and we know how hard it must have been sometimes). But thank you and good luck with your next AP class and from everyone we hope it's as great as this year!

MORE ART

Sooooooo this MY first official post as a graduate. Enjoy the art you are about to witness. You'll laugh, you'll cry, but most importantly....you'll feel. Feel the love and the bad boys that might be in your heart. So learn a lot from Teddy and do NOT make the same mistakes he has. God bless and Enjoi.
