Ohio Explored on Instagram

I recently came across a photography page on instagram called @ohioexplored. They post some great stuff on their from all over ohio. You can send in your photos to get shared too. Check them out with the link below. Link:  https://www.instagram.com/ohioexplored/ Here are some examples of their photos they share:

Eric Wert

Some of you big art nuts out there have probably heard of this guy before, but in case you haven't you must  check out some of his works. I honestly don't have much to write on him though, ironically. I just don't really know what to say or how to describe him. His art just seems to give its own air and give views into different thoughts or emotions. He does his work with oil, usually on canvas, to get all these vibrant colors and textures. It really is fabulous how he isn't scared away by the challenge of bright colors, kind of like van Gogh's style of painting.

Animation

Here are some different animations from some of my favorite movies and tv shows. They all have a different art style but simple enough they still follow the basics of animation. Since we are starting to learn about animation, i think these videos are good inspiration to a good animation.

Body Art

Emma Cammack is a unique artist who focuses mainly on body painting. Her art and body paintings have been on commercials billboards magazines and even packaging. She is based in the UK and was a guest on Skin Wars. She currently judges a show called Skin Wars Fresh Paint while continuing her work for costumers. Her paintings on skin are very realistic and detailed and each takes hours to complete. This is one of her award winning body paintings featuring 6 people with a background of paintbrushes.

inspiredbyohio

@inspiredbyohio is an account on Instagram that showcases people's photos showing beautiful locations in Ohio. The account is more of a community brought together by this page. Use the tag "#inspiredbyohio" on an Instagram photo somewhere in Ohio and you may be featured on the page! This page could be a good way to gain some recognition for your work, as well as inspiration from other artists! Here is some of there work:

Coraline

One of my favorite movies of all time is Coraline and over the weekend I watched it again and have become fascinated with how it was filmed. I did some research and found that it took almost 2 years to film!!! That must take some serious dedication, I can't imagine how much work went into the making of this movie.  For our new AP DMA project we're doing interior perspectives, and this movie is really inspiring what I want to do for the project, I love the overall style and vibe of the movie, the darkness and the portrayal of the characters. The architecture in this movie is also really really cool, in my project I will definitely take inspiration from it.

Digital Paintings

I found an artist on Deviantart named Lorri who mainly does digital paintings of animals. I love her style and really like how she adds props and imaginative elements into her images to give the animals a personality. Each picture is vivid and looks real. These are a few of my favorites, other artworks of hers can be found here .

Speed Paint - Photoshop

This is a speed paint done in photoshop. I think the best part of this video is how realistic the  painting is! I hope you enjoy!

Cool street art

I think street art is very interesting. It is crazy that someone can create art on such a large scale. I like how there are so many different ways to create street art, you can make it vibrant and fun or dark and creepy. This is a topic that I would like to look more into.

Artsy picture

This image really jumped out at me because of the vibrant colors and swirl. I think these suckers are the best and taste so good. The way the artist made the colors brighter makes you stop and think about the rainbow and how everyone should be treated equally no matter what race or gender. It also looks like someone was licking the top because its worn down.

Nail Art

I think this is something really unique and cool. This type of art requires you to use nails, and a electric screwdriver. Like 3D art. And this artist made portraits for people. And I think that supper hard since, it requires for each nail to be perfect in its position to complete the portrait. And i thought this was really cool to share.

Zaib Ali

While scouring through pinterest I found this guy Zaib Ali, and I love his illustrations. He has a very simple style and I think its fantastic. On his Behance profile he has posted many of his contracted work alongside his personal art. He has done a huge variety of projects, from race cars to presentation themes. All of which can be seen here  https://www.behance.net/kaizoro Here are a few of my favorites.

Elephant Watercolor

I really like this piece because of the color scheme, it emphasizes the mood and tone of the piece. I also like this piece because of the technique. The watercolor of the elephants adds a lot of detail and is a different approach of creating an image of elephants.

Chalkboard Art

For the past 6 months I've been dating a guy that is really into video games and I found this amazing artist called Rena Rena who recreated one of my boyfriends favorite video games views called Dark Souls III. I think that her technique is really detailed and worth sharing.

David Lynch by Peter Strain

David Lynch Peter Strain is a fairly well-known artist who uses interesting phrases to shade the subject's face. He doesn't have many portraits uploaded for people to see, but he has a couple on his website which I will link right  here.

Ten Thousand Villages

I recently visited a store called Ten Thousand Villages in Harpers Point. Ten Thousand Villages is a non-profit business that aims to help different communities around the world thrive by selling handmade, crafty, fair-trade items made in over 30 different developing countries, and giving the proceeds to the communities. Many of the workers in the shops are actually volunteers. They sell all sorts of items such as home decor, candles, jewelry, coffee, bags clothes, soaps, and much more. Along with the Harpers Point location, there are also locations in Liberty Center and on Madison Road in Cincinnati. Ten thousand villages is a great company with a great mission and I highly recommend you go and check them out!

More Dragons!

I really, really, REALLY love dragons! I love this vector image! The way they showed their perspective with the dragon, girl, and mountain is different. It's like you are looking through the clouds. I find this piece of art quite amusing and cute :3 The mountain also kinda looks like a dragon head. I would love to create art similar to their style eventually. I also wonder what they made it in... Here is more of this artist's work!

Over the past week in class we have been doing light graffiti and things have been getting pretty trippy. If you can really create a cool design with the lights and get the shot your photo can look super psychedelic. Steel wool can help create a really mind-blowing image, but can be a bit risky. All you do is put steel wool inside a wisk and light it up and give it a whirl. You could catch on fire in the process so keep some water near by. Below I put some really kaleidoscopic examples of this. Hope you enjoy. Go Packers
Here are some cool and creative illustrator works people have made when filling a silhouette of a person with typography. Im excited to move on to this in class and see what I can create.
I found a tutorial on how to paint cherry blossoms. It just seems like a simple and easy project you could do in your free time.

ABSTRACT: The Art of Design

To any of the binge Netflix viewers out there the company has just released a trailer for their upcoming documentary series about the life of some of the worlds most successful artist. From architects to shoe designers this series looks amazing! It takes you behind the scenes of what artist really do and what it is that they love about their impact on the world through their creations.  Abstract: The Art of Design

Unique Methods of Light Graffiti

I came across this video on YouTube of an artist using various tools and household objects to create light graffiti. Lots of ideas for Christmas lights, mini lasers, et cetera! (Remember to be safe with your projects. If something looks dangerous or too difficult to accomplish safely, it's probably best to set that particular idea aside for the time being.)

(IN THE OPEN)

This video is an open session of young the giant performing their song "nothings over". I really like the way they used different things to make the music and the way the camera moves around. Great short film musical

Working with light and contrast

When we visited the Taft Museum I chose a piece to do my project on a piece that had a lot of contrast. That piece inspired me because of the interesting choice of lighting along with the placement of the body.  My piece that I'm creating off of that is going to be an image with very high contrast as well. Here's some images that I really like the look of. I will be working with lighting and placement just like the artist of the painting.
