It's Been Real

3 years of DMA later and now it coming to an end. Taking DMA has completely changed my outlook on art and on everyday life in general.  I'm gonna miss DMA. I've made some good memories in this classroom that have helped ultimately shaped me into the artist I am now. I've made tons of projects but here's some of my favs. For more of my work here's a link to my website  https://22cmull.wixsite.com/mysite Peace out DMA, It's been real <3 #lovemrs.sheilds

Tschuss DMA!!!

See ya DMA         Hey guys since I am a senior I, unfortunately, do have to leave and go to college.  I have enjoyed flexing my creative muscles in this class and I will be sad to leave it. I have made so many friends in this class and I'm glad to say some of them will be friends for life.  Next year I will be attending the University of Cincinnati and I don't know what I'll be majoring in.

See Ya DMA!

Well, I can't believe I'm here. It's a crazy how this chapter of my life is closing. DMA has been such a wild ride. It's really been really fun and filled with laughs and victories. I've loved creating art over these past 2 years, and expanding my skills. I've created things I've never thought I'd be able too. My favorite thing I've created is probably my sustained investigation. Which was all about the fictional characters who inspired me. Here is the Black Canary piece (sometimes called Spikeball), the Leia piece, and the Scarlet Witch piece.  Black Canary: https://sarahedykhuizen.wixsite.com/website/digital-art?pgid=kns539b7-a88bed8f-154d-441f-b2d3-f9677a76df46 Princess Leia:  https://sarahedykhuizen.wixsite.com/website/digital-art?pgid=kns539b7-3505fbc2-2009-4150-8ac1-fef11c46bca8 Scarlet Witch:  https://sarahedykhuizen.wixsite.com/website/digital-art?pgid=kns539b7-2a1e5957-de4c-4289-929b-a3d145860b7b Even though I'm sad this chapter is end

APDMA Class of 2021

As this year comes to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to send out the web links to the portfolios of the 10 AP DMA Seniors that will be graduating in a few short weeks.  If you have a minute, take a look at the wonderful work they have created during their time in high school. These talented students are looking for internships, commissions, networking, and job opportunities that will help them achieve their future career goals.  If you like their work, please contact them directly for your photography, illustration, design, animation, video and filmmaking needs!  Please forward their portfolios to anyone you know who might be interested in their work. Digital Art!!!

Hi!! With this being my last blog post because I am unfortunately not taking DMA next year I wanted to end it on something that really inspires me. I know most of us who take DMA love to draw so I want to show you my cousin's Instagram because she creates amazing digital art portraits. I'm not entirely sure what she does it on but it totally looks like something we would do in illustrator or photoshop. Her Instagram is steggymus if you want to check out some of her artwork but I will put a picture of one of her posts too!

Hasta La Vista DMA

4 years of high school are coming to a close. With that, my journey in the Digital Media Arts Program comes to an end. Reflecting on high school is rather bittersweet. There are so many good things and just as many god-awful things, but you make it through, then move on to bigger and better. "Create" is the word that has to define pretty much everything I've done in my life. I started with Traditional Art and Stop-Motion Animation at a young age. As time went on, the variety of mediums to create kept getting larger. Eventually, I dove into live-action filming, commentary videos, digital painting, digital illustration, photography, storytelling, and much more. "Create" could be implied to all outside of art as well. I've been building relationships, obtained new interests, developed advanced skills, etc. I look forward to continuing to create all the aspects of my future. I'll be attending the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music

Peace Out :(

As I start to write this, I can't think of words to describe what DMA has meant to me. I started freshman year and fell in love with the class. I ended up taking Honors DMA 1 my junior year and thought I'd be done with DMA. Of course, Mrs. Barnes and Shields convinced me to take AP. And here I am. The only thing that made school fun. The amount of pictures and videos I have from this class is insane. I have made so many memories in this class. It's not just a class. For me, it's therapy, a way to express myself. Sitting here every day next to my friends has been so fun. I know I'll remember this class forever. I would not be where I am without this class. I'm excited for college but will definitely miss this class and these people. Next year I will be attending The University of Alabama to study Creative Advertising. Thank you for everything, APDMA. Sayonara DMA

At the time I am making this post there are approximately 11 days until graduation. I cannot believe how fast my high school career went by. So many ups and downs and memories I want to remember forever. I remember when I was a freshman thinking that 4 years would take forever. I was very very wrong. Thinking back to my memories as an underclassmen feel like they were just yesterday. I hope the person reading this takes this into account unlike how I did and makes the most out of your high school experience. That all being said, it's too late for me so I will talk about my next step out of high school.      I will be attending the University of Dayton to major in Graphic Design. I spent my sophomore through senior year focusing on my passion for digital design in all aspects. I started my journey with the Intro to DMA class my sophomore year where I fell in passion. I learned how to use the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate where I thrived in my projects. I then we

Farewell DMA!

It's hard to believe that the time has finally come for me to say goodbye to DMA and to high school alike. I'll certainly never be forgetting the time I spent here and the friends I've made, especially in DMA!  I'd have to say that my favorite piece (of mine) of all time would have to be  this one . This was a piece that was a part of my sustained investigation/sustain of investigation. It was the gateway piece to my entire sustained investigation/sustain of investigation, actually! It's one I'll forever be proud of.  I'll be heading off to the Ohio State University to get my degrees in Biology and Psychology next! Though the degrees I plan to pursue aren't directly related to art in any manner, I'm hoping I'll still be able to create art as a hobby of sorts. Be sure to keep up with me on my  website !

Chapter 139

So this is it. After 2 years, I have finished my time here in DMA. DMA has given me so many things to think about, learn from, and laugh at. From dance parties, food fests, hallway shenanigans, and other random events. We laughed. We cried. We screamed. We sang. We danced. There is nothing in this world I wouldn't give to take this class again. I wish anyone taking AP or Honors DMA now or in the future the best of luck. Remember the legacy you leave behind. Cabbage Man out.

A Monster Calls

I recently watched the movie, A Monster Calls and it was stunning. The transitions from scene to scene were actually flawless. You would have to watch the movie for yourself to know why I love it so much. You can find it on Netflix.

Peace out y'all...

Well... It has certainly been quite the year... Make sure you find your people and your thing, try it all. Talk to everyone and do all the stuff. I certainly didn't think I was an artist when I first started DMA my Freshman year. Things have a way of working themselves out when you really apply yourself. Apply yourself to your craft and it'll come around soon enough. Make your actions more stubborn than your thoughts. I feel like a philosopher. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. https://calebachunn.wixsite.com/digitalmedia

MLB the show

MLB the show is a baseball game that was originally just on ps4 but just newly added to Xbox one. The game consists of playing vs friends and online vs other players. The game has been getting a lot of good reviews and has blown up in the world of baseball. I cant remember a time I have ever played an MLB game, until now. I highly recommend buying this game, it is worth every penny.

The Biggest Little Farm

When I was cleaning out my google drive I found the Honors DMA critique paper I had to write last year. I did It over the movie The Biggest Little Farm. I forgot how good this movie was and thought I would share it! It is a documentary about a couple who buy some land and turn it into a fully sustainable dream farm. John Carter (the farm's owner) directed and produced the film while also starring in it! It's truly a cinematic masterpiece and I would highly recommend it!

Float

Float is a Pixar animated short film. Float is definitely one of my favorites. It has such a deep message and pulls on a person's heartstrings.  It's about this little boy who lives with his dad and one day his dad found him playing in the yard beginning to fly. All of the neighbors got scared and were giving the boy and his dad weird looks. The dad decides to keep his son hidden and away from everyone else. The dad takes the boy on a walk and the boy starts to fly in front of everyone again. The dad gets embarrassed and tells his son that he wishes he could "just be normal." After that everything goes uphill for the boy and his dad. Such a great watch i definitely recommend.

New Bengals Uniforms

Recently the Bengals unveiled their new uniforms to the public.  The new design is more simple featuring only a couple of colors in general with little designs on the front or back of the uniforms.  Personally I think the old uniforms were better, but my opinion about them may change as the season progresses.  The symbolic transition featuring Chad Johnson in the new uniform was really unique and I hope that the Bengals continue to include their past in their future designs and promotions.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a new show on Disney Plus. I would say I'm a big fan of this show, I really like all the action in the show and also the moments when the characters are just bonding. I think the action is really done well, but you can also see the character development from Sam and Bucky. I would give this show an 8.7/10.

BPA State Champs!

Earlier this month my team found out we got first place in Broadcast News Production at Business Professionals of America State Competition. We were super excited and proud of ourselves because we worked really hard. We present on May 3rd for the National Competition so wish us luck!!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgdCexPW5bI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUCoeFRyZ-U

Kiki - Juice WRLD

The Juice WRLD leaking community recently had a highly requested unreleased song leak publically by the name of, "Kiki." This song was a 2018 song produced by Richiesouf and was previewed multiple times by Juice's friends and label manager Lil Bibby. With the hype surrounding this song came the single covers for the song. There are many talented illustrators and artists in the community that created covers for the song, such as the one above. I know I specialize more in digital art so this kind of skill comes off extremely impressive to me and makes me want to learn how to illustrate and draw more. You can find this song on YouTube or Soundcloud.

CGI vs 2D in Animated films/shows

With the release of Season 4 of Attack on Titan, the studio MAPPA was in charge of the animations for the series versus WIT, who had animated the previous 3 seasons. One major change MAPPA made that WIT did not use while animating seasons 1-3 is the use of CGI in animation. I personally think that the CGI titans seem out of place when every other character and building is in 2D. While it may look a little odd, I cannot complain about the work that MAPPA did. They truly nailed every scene and I cannot wait for the second part of Season 4 next Winter.

inside pixar

I love Disney plus so I always explore new shows and movies on there. Recently I came across a documentary called Inside Pixar. This episode documentary gives viewers an inside look at how Pixar made their most famous movies. I really recommend it for everyone as it shows the process of storyboarding and animation just like what we were doing.

Anime Girls Appreciation Post

I love anime girls. If you don't know, I have a pretty big obsession ngl. SO this is my anime girls appreciation post. enjoy ^-^

Hayao Miyazaki

hayao maiyazki is a profounding animator and makes many famous and known animations incuding  Princess Mononoke  and many other amazing animations. His work is unbelievable and I don't know how its even possible. Working in animation truly crates a respect for this man and what he has created. if you hav e time check out the flims he has creted.

Slime Language 2

Young Thug has come through and delivered the highly anticipated slime language 2. While people were excited for this release, it has completely exceeded expectations and has a feature list that looks like a Lebron James all star team. My favorite track from this release is Proud of You because being a huge Lil Uzi fan I had been waiting on this song for a while and boy did Uzi and Thug both deliver. Definitely an Album that will be on repeat heading into summer.

Silent Hill For The PS5 Leaked?

The same person who had leaked God of War: Ragnarock for the PS5 (which he was correct about) has heftily hinted at the possibility of a new Silent Hill game coming to the PS5, even though the Silent Hill project as a whole was thought to have fallen apart since the creator- Hideo Kojima- left Konami and formed Kojima Studios and started work on the game Death Stranding rather than on any new Silent Hill game.  I'd personally be thrilled if there were to be a new Silent Hill game coming to the PS5! The franchise could really use a new, modern game, even if that's just to be a remake.  Here's a video detailing what seems to be the situation with the possible new Silent Hill game:
