Optical Illusions

I found this website the other day and thought it was really cool. This artist's name is Erik Johansson and he creates optical allusions through photoshop. I really liked them because they looked like they took a lot of time and are interesting to look at and try to figure out how he created the pictures. These are a few examples of his art and the link to his website. http://www.boredpanda.com/optical-illusions-photo-manipulation-surreal-eric-johansson/

New DJI Drone

Drones have become very popular in the past few years. The DJI Mavic Pro just released a few days ago and it is very powerful. It can shoot videos at C4k and 4k. It's size is also very impressive, it's only 335mm diagonal and only weighs 1.62 lbs. The Mavic Pro also has a max speed of 40mph and flight time of 27 minutes. Here's the link to DJI's new drone: http://www.dji.com/mavic/info
This photograph really stood out to me. The dandelion is accenting the sun in a strange way that makes you think about what you're looking at. I think the seeds flying shows how if you break away from your stem and roots you can accomplish new things and go places you've never been before. The process and angle in taking this photograph was probably difficult based on the things I've learned this year. It looks as if the dandelion is on fire or burning but then you focus and its just the sun glowing behind it. I really like this image and you can appreciate it more if you know what the process was in taking it.

Fun Street Art

I think this type of art is awesome. The artist is David Zinn and this is street art. He uses chalk which is a type of art that you don't really see too often. The one i used in this post I especially like because it looks the dragon is actually coming out of the side walk. Street art adds a little fun to our every day life. You can read an article and see more street art like this one  here . Thanks for reading!

Spirit Humans

I love these pictures and how the animals have human bodies and clothes. The artist explains that instead of humans choosing their spirit animals, this shows animals choosing their spirit humans. I think these have an awesome story and are well executed with the contrast of the black backgrounds to make the animal heads a focal point. More of them can be found  here !

Greatest Art Site to Exist

Okay, I'm not exactly sure how many people know about DeviantArt but regardless, I'm gonna explain it. DeviantART is a site dedicated to artists. Of all kinds. Digital media, photography, traditional, stock images, animations, etc. You can find practically everything on there. Profiles can be customized to how you want them to be. Every member has their own sta.sh which is where you can keep sketches, drafts, and other incomplete pieces of artwork. It also comes with its own built drawing program, though I'm biased with my opinion, I would just check it out and see how you feel about it. You can also submit journals and status posts so people who watch you can keep up with what's going on in your life as well as you being able to keep up with their lives, granted you watched them back. There is also the option of turning on and off "Mature content" which would be anything considered NSFW, "not safe for work". You can offer commissi

Art Amino!

I love this mobile site called art amino. It has a great community and the feed is great. Its a good place for starting artists because of the daily challenges. And the dedication of artists in the community. I would highly recommend for you to check it out.

/r/pics

First things first if you do not know what Reddit is I highly, highly recommend checking it out. It is called 'the front page of the internet' because you can find anything and everything you could ever imagine through this site. But I wanted to show everyone the subreddit /r/pics ( https://www.reddit.com/r/pics ) this is a subreddit for any sort of picture you could think of. People submit a picture that they think is interesting or funny and other people vote on it. Anyone can submit an image whether it be professional, like this sweet pic of a turtle,  , or even just a shot of your fifteen-year-old pirate cat with your phone.   Anyways I love using Reddit and if you have some extra time I'd highly recommend checking out /r/pics and Reddit in general!

@cutsad on instagram

This is an artist I discovered on instagram, I really love her art because its so weird and interesting to look at. This one I was particularly drawn to, I loved the drips and how it looks like the eyes and lips are melting and dripping down the persons chin. I also really love how the artist added the blood drips to get a really creepy effect.

GoPro's New Drone- Karma

GoPro's "Karma" GoPro recently released a new drone which is arguably better than it's ancestors. The problem with the top of the line drones is that they are not very easy to transport, Karma however has 4 removable blades as well as 4 fold-able arms capable of being transported by any backpack, also capable of a camera on a gimbal which can be removed and used separately from the drone. The camera on Karma is located in the front opposed to the bottom so that the blades will no longer be included in the shot. The pricing of this drone can be significantly less than previous leaders of the industry and will start at $799 without a camera, $999 with the GoPro Session, and $1,099 with the GoPro Hero 5 Black. For more information read: GoPro's Karma

"Rad Portraits with Beth"

"Rad Portraits with Beth" are a series of YouTube drawing tutorials done by an artist named Beth. However, what makes these tutorials really unique is that Beth picks a person to draw and tells the viewers why she picked this person, why she thinks they're great, and what makes them great. When I stumbled upon one of Beth's videos, I really enjoyed how it wasn't just a regular drawing tutorial. Beth gives off lots of facts about the person she's drawing which makes you more drawn into the video. Also, she picks people to draw from suggestions in the comments, adding an interactive factor to the videos. Not only are Beth's portraits original and creative, I feel that the way she presents the video and how she researches her subject separates her from the rest that allows her to create a following.

New Virtual Gallery in Google Photos

We have migrated our KHS Digital Media Virtual Gallery to Google Photos.  You can check out new work here .

19 Year-old Creates Outstanding Realistic Art Pieces

This 19 year-old artist is INSANELY talented.  He has so many different drawings that will blow your mind. Here is a link to his work:  http://digitalsynopsis.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/hyperrealistic-3d-art-drawings-sushant-rane-cube-3.jpg I find him so inspirational, because I, myself love drawing realistic portraits.

Deck of cards

The other day I found an old deck of cards in my house and I wanted to be able to use them somehow in my sketchbook. So I looked up some ideas on pinterest and I found these images and I really fell in love with how just two small objects can tell a story. You can distort objects to make them have a deeper meaning. I ended up doing my own version and put it in a frame and hung it up on my wall. I want to find more everyday objects that nobody would think about using and make them tell a story.

Wishgranter

A little animated story where wishes are granted by little creatures under fountains. I love how the story moves along, and how the characters show their thoughts and feelings with little sound from them. The song playing in the background sets a mood and helps progress the story along.

Quirky Fruit

I love this concentration. Just the quirkiness of the composition grabs your attention. I also love how the artist matches the color scheme and texture of each fruit.

Apple Unveils iOS 10 Update TODAY!

Some of you might already know this, but for those who don't, you might want to. Today (9/13/16), Apple is gradually releasing a brand new software update to its devices, iOS 10. Personally, I'm extremely excited for the update due to the new iMessage features that allow more creativity with your messages. (Handwritten messages, celebratory visual effects, and text-to-emoji word replacement are just a few of the new features.) To find out more, here's a video briefly explaining some new features, here's the info straight from Apple's official website, and here's a video of a girl explaining her experience with iOS 10 (according to the last pre-release beta version). Here are a couple visual differences between 9 and 10 (9, the current version, is on the RIGHT in these photos.) As you can see, in iOS 10 there is no longer any "slide to unlock" option, and the control panel is smaller (the music controls are just a left-swipe away).
I seem to love this video, just the way they show the process of animation both digitally and traditionally. The song and tempo really suits what they were trying to portray also.

Awesome Design Idea!

I absolutely love the album artwork for the band Disclosure. I feel like the white outlines of the faces is very minimalist but aesthetically pleasing. This could definitely be an element to include in future projects or just something to experiment with on your own time (try taking a selfie and outlining it like this to see the outcome?)!

First Post ; )

I'm really excited for digital collage. I am really inspired by these pieces and especially the pieces that Morgan FitzGerald created last year. I love how all random objects that wouldn't seem to go together can be added to collage to create a story.
I found this video on youtube and I think its cool to watch. It is shot with a fisheye lense which makes it really artistic and interesting to watch. My favorite part of the video starts at 0:39- the shot is interesting and not something you always see being videoed with the fisheye style.

Ukraine's Got Talent - Sand Artist

I really wasn't too sure what to post this week tbh but then I saw this while surfing the web.  If you haven't seen this I definitely recommend you check it out. It's a clip from Ukraine's Got Talent of one of the contestants doing sand art, where basically she does art by moving the sand around. I find it fascinating because of how the images blend into one another and come together to form this story of a family torn apart by WWII. Sensitive subject, but if you can handle it I definitely recommend seeing it. It's slightly under 9 min btw, so make sure you have the time :)

Synesthesia

Synesthesia is a perceptual condition that mixes senses.  Because of this, people can see, smell, even taste music as they listen to it. (It can cause a lot of other things too but this is just what I focused on).  I actually learned about it in psychology a little bit but I found some paintings on Twitter that people did showing how they perceive different songs! I thought it was so interesting and it's crazy to me how even though the artwork is so abstract, I can always see the relation to the song! Music is so important to my life, as I'm sure it is for you guys as well and I would encourage looking into this! It's pretty cool to see some of your favorite songs brought to life in these paintings! Here's just a couple of examples that I found on a website!

Photography From A Different Prospective

I Personally really love photography, its one of my passions or hobbies, but my favorite way to snap pictures is when its from a different angle or where it makes a normal object a bit larger than it should be, like in the first photo above. Plus I think it looks neat when people can use their environment to make the picture favor in their way. (As seen above) both of the pictures are at a beach and they use the sand to give their picture some texture. All in all, a true photographer can get the results he wants by using his environment and thinking outside of the box without using any editing.

Drawing black and white portrait

I found this video a while ago while I was in drawing and just thought it was amazing! just wait till the end! I really love how realistic it looks and you all should definitely check out some of her other drawings!
This is the music video to "Titus was born" by Young The Giant. i wanted to share this because this my favorite band of all time, i get to see them live Saturday, and this is an amazing visual that gives life to the song.

Cool and Detailed Wolf Drawing

I really like this drawing of a wolf. I love how each part of the fur is separated into different textures. These different textures make the drawing pop out of you without the use of colors. This is a type of art that I would like to try sometime as I think it would be really cool to be able to put my own twist on it. This artist draws a lot of other animals just like this, which you can find  here . Hope you all enjoy!
This photo really spoke to me. In my free time I like to get a new, large piece of white paper and start doodling. I enjoy the creativity of the colored pencils in how they are arranged. I like how the colors are all warm and not dark scary colors. Each color accents the other in a way that pleases the eye. This photo is simple and unique and thats why it was chosen.

Creative and Interesting Album Cover Art

I really enjoy the creativity in these two album covers for the band Passion Pit. I like how the design and colors really pop out at you. It's also all done digitally which relates to what we've been doing lately. Also, the art work was created by Frank Napolski.
