Some Poetry

So, I found these poems by the author Marie Frances. I really liked the way they flowed and captured the reader. Honestly, I think there's some truth to what she says, and the way we work, mentally. In the End From ash we rise again Only when death cowers And hides his sullen onyx eyes. From the depths of darkness we find the light But only when location is given And we know the way. Only when we are invincible Do we stand But isn’t that the greatest cowardice of all? -Marie Frances The Dream Keeper Darkness wells, in deep soulless eyes Broken to the core, seeing, but not quite. Hopes and dreams, tucked away in the safety of another’s mind In another place, another time. -Marie Frances Celaena Fire and fury Enrage Set heart and soul aflame Destruction and pain sure to follow Eternal agony using love as fuel for hate Feeding from the soul Never ending Until nothing Is Left. -Marie Frances

Triangle

This photo that i took and made it into a unique visual art. Almost looks like a painting in a way to me which is really cool.

BPA Virtual Inspiration

Below are some photos I used for inspiration for my BPA virtual photography event. I really wanted to capture the older, more historic spots in Cincinnati. More specifically, places like Loveland, Lebanon, and Mason.  I liked the photos below because of the architecture that can be seen in historic buildings.
This picture is captured in the mountains of Ireland, This picture looks amazing with the way the sky and the mountains mirror off the water!
You might be wondering why I have posted a picture of a random shoe. Its not a shoe, infact its actually a cake. Haha, gotcha!

Music

The thing that inspires my art more than anything has got to be music. Anything music. Especially more current songs as I find they express emotions more powerfully and more "in your face" than songs from previous generations. That's not to say I don't like listening to them, I just find it harder to be inspired to create something when listening to them. As a matter of fact I listen to anything (except county music) so if you have any recommendations feel free to leave them in the comments of this and I'll give them a listen :) Below are some songs I have been drawing to as of late: (Also anything NF because I am so addicted to him. If you wanna listen to a real good song look up Wait by NF. You will not be disappointed.)
Above is the art of Scott Zambelli. He is a digital artist that does pop culture inspired art such as Star Wars characters and 80's movies like Robocop and Indiana Jones. He work usually consists of  a characters torso with their helmet or an item that is connected to the like the statue that Dr. Jones has or Boba Fett's Helmet.

A Hipster with a Guitar

This is my newest illustrated portrait that I created for the Taft ARC exhibition. I was inspired by a Hooch painting at the Taft called A Woman with a Cittern and a Singing Couple at a Table because of the amazing composition and use of texture and light. I tried to focus on these things while I created this portrait. Overall I am very proud of this piece.
I found these pictures online and they look interesting. The artist used  the force perspective technique we learned in class to create them.

Fortnite Season 3

Season 3 of Fortnite started yesterday and there are new customization items in the game that make it more interesting.I am excited for this season and I can't wait to grind for the new skins and customization items. Dusty for life.
This is a picture i made of my friend Brian, I love this picture because of the retro vibe.

City Art

I feel that living so close to the city of Cincinnati has the potential to affect all of us as artist because of the art work that can be found on the street as well as the different corporations that sponsor art and artist. The above street art has an unknown location, but I feel that it can be related to the pieces you can see walking down the streets of the city.

Lure Design Inc.

For all you graphic designers out there. I found this website, which is actually a showcase of this design firm's work. Most of their work has a very minimalist aesthetic, but I've seen some digital collages on their site as well.

interesting painting

I really liked this painting, it's a very interesting spin with a regal look but a normal and current looking character as the focus. Its an interesting idea and I would like to now what the artist intended to say through it.

Skyrim

This is a picture from the game Skyrim. It is a couple years old, but it got remastered so I've been playing it a lot lately. It has a lot of really nice scenery and I'd recommend the game to anyone.

Tilted Towers

I really love this picture because it really hows off the beauty of a city skyline. I really love how this city is placed in into the terrain, tilted towers has provided me with a lot of loot and chests. The colors in this photo really pop and stand out. FaZe UP
This is a movie I have grown up watching. Cars, this is a Pixar film that I have watched over and over again. Over the summer they released the 3rd installment of the films. This is amazing anamation and such a great movie to see.

Matt Hunt - Nighttime phtot

I really like how they used long exposure and the colors from the cars pop out and in the background all of the buildings.

Chicago

Over the long weekend, my friend Erin and I took a trip to Chicago. We visited the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, the Bean, and the Willis Tower. While there, I took a lot of photos, especially in the Field Museum. The Field Museum is incredibly large, we likely only saw half of it in the 3 hours we were there. Here are some of my favorite photos that I took.

Regular Show

This post will be dedicated to one of the greatest cartoons of all-time. Not only is it super silly, but it also teaches some very solid life lessons. For example, in Season 3 Episode 18 Rigby tries to eat a 12 egg omelette nd has an allergic reaction to the eggs and goes into a coma. The only way to get Rigby out of the coma is if Mordecai can defect the omelette challenge. After numerous failed tries and weeks of training he was able to defeat the challenge and save his best pal from the coma. The life lesson from this episode would be do not eat eggs if you are allergic to them because it could be fatal. Below I have attached some gifs from this goofy show. If you do give it a chance, I highly recommend watching it with some of your besties so you all can get a good chuckle out of it!!! XD Hope you all have a beautiful 4 day week, make sure to soak up some sunshine this week!                                                                Logang 4ever

Animated Shorts

When we first started doing animation, I immediately thought of this short which was played before Finding Dory  when I went to go see it in theaters. I like how  story can be told and you were actually able to connect with the characters with little to no dialogue. Not only does this animation, have many real life, advanced effects but the story is really good too. I try to imagine it every day and use it as inspiration for my own animation.

Pablo Picasso

Today at five guys burgers and fries I met a rising artist named Pablo Picasso, he was kind and very nice. He was so nice she even offered to pay for meals because we were his biggest fans. This other person was Thomas Jamieson. And we had such a blast with our favorite artist.

Cartography

One thing I have always found interesting is Cartography. For those of you who don't know, Cartography is the art of making maps. If you have any interest in Cartography whatsoever I suggest you look at @unnecessarymaps on Instagram. They make maps with interesting facts on them that I enjoy reading. Here are some examples: Follow them  here

Short Film Inspiration: Stranger Things

Over the past few weeks, I've been busy working on a short film called Violet with Lo Riddell and Bella Spleen. " Violet , set in 1989, follows the story of a group of popular friends who come across a girl named Violet- who happens to have a lot more going on than meets the eye," (writer- Lo Riddell). A lot of our story and mood for the film is inspired by Stranger Things,  which I've been watching a lot of, for research. Recently, I've been really intrigued by the art of transitions. And I don't just mean a transition effect placed on a clip in Premiere. No, no. I mean the art of well planned and thought out transitions. As I've been rewatching Stranger Things , I've noticed how well they use transitions between scenes. Almost every time, there is some kind of motion, camera angle, noise, feeling/tone, or character that is repeated or used. To go with the on-edge mood of Stranger Things, they usually repeat loud sounds matched with a close up s

Omar Juarez

These are some piece from an artist I've been really into lately named Omar Juarez, he does these mariachi style characters with very simple yet unique traits. The combination of the color pallets he chooses and infusing that with a vintage Mexican style is really cool. Juarez has also done the cover art and music video art for one of my favorite bands The Arcs.

Robot with Feelings

I thought this video was well done, and introduced a conflict with a robot and his creator. And what is the right thing to do in the situation. I thought this animation was cute to share.

"How To Wear Hoodies All Day, Every Day"

On Youtube, Vogue posts a lot of cool little short videos  that I love to get inspiration from. I really love how they make simple things into  really awesome works of art. In this video, I love the different styles of clothing that they choose to go with the music, along with the different dance style that they had this model do.

World of Tomorrow

World of Tomorrow is a 17-minute animated short film from 2015 by Don Hertzfeldt. Without giving too much away the film follows a four-year-old named Emily meeting her future self. Hertzfeldt uses traditional stick figures as the characters interwoven with a very sophisticated plot to create one of the best films in recent memory. I love this short because of the grand sci-fi elements that are able to be mixed with the idea of Herfezfeldt recording his four-year-old niece. World of Tomorrow received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film and was ranked at #10 on Rolling Stone's Greatest Animated Movies Ever list. The short can be watched on Netflix and a sequel was just released on Vimeo.
These are GIFs, they are like memes. These small little works of art are used for many things simply to make us laugh. They are mainly sent through texts and instant messaging. Laugh on with GIFs

Lines

I have been doing exploration into different fine art mediums and styles lately and this specific style really caught my eye. Using lines in a uniform pattern to create 3-D looking art is very pleasing. It's very simplistic but also beautiful. I attached a few examples that show how just using curved black lines can create such a satisfying image.

Memes

Memes, we've all seen them, but what do they mean? Memes are like art work, because without saying anything, they say so much. Memes can be interpreted in so many different ways, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Memes can be a way of expressing yourself. Memes can make you happy, they can make you sad, they can even cause you to shed tears. All I can say is, memes are more than stupid pictures that may pop up on your phone, they are true works of art, that mean so much to so many people.
