Last night, Juaquin Pheonix received an Oscar academy award for the best actor in a leading role. His performance in the 2019 film, Joker, solidified his win in this category. His method acting for the film and the way he executed a very difficult story with a character with an even more difficult story made some people uncomfortable and others to praise him. Regardless, the award was well deserved for such a performance that brought to light some dark stories in our own lives, not only that of Gotham City.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. I have never seen the movie Joker but I heard it was good and I did see Joaquin Phoenix win his award at the Oscars on TV.
