In the spirit of Halloween these excellently drawn charcoal crows really put the spook in Halloween. The crows them selves have enough detail to make out their shape but at the same time have a bit of a messy look that makes the whole vibe of this work of art that more spooky. The branch has an ominous, almost dead look that also adds to the scary factor.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. I agree with what you said. I like how the artist only gives enough detail for the viewer to see the crows but they seem like shadows and are very messy. This adds to the emotional appeal of the piece.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of silhouettes, and I like the aura the crows have in this piece. Giving this gothic feeling.
