Triggertrap is an open-source, Arduino-based universal camera trigger. It triggers (nearly) any digital stills camera using (almost) any source: 
Laser Sound Time-lapse Anything else, via the built-in AUX port. The Sound sensor on Triggertrap v1 was used to trigger based on the popping sound of a water balloon with a tiny bit of air in the top (so it would make a popping sound, obviously). For $125, I might want this.

I wish we had one of those. That way, we could get awesome action shots of water, and other things.
