For my creative self portrait I wanted something different. I decided to use fairy lights to illuminate my face and stood in a dark, pitch black room. What I didn't know was that I would soon start to struggle with the way I could edit my photo. The way my picture was setup there weren't many options to edit with fun colors. I used different brushes and techniques to bring out different aspects of the picture in each edit. For the one that I could edit on my own, I downloaded lens flare brushes to make it look like the lights from the fairy lights were reflecting. I ended up really liking the way some of my edits turned out and liked the challenge.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. Your photo was really cool, I loved the lights and how you focused the lighting to be dark so your eyes would notice the lights you were holding first.
