Spiderman- Into the Spider-verse came out in mid December of 2018 and quickly took over the box office. The LA Times revealed that it took 800 people 4 years to animate and produce this film. The artistic style mirrored that of a comic book, but it looked very sleek and technically sound. Marvel, Sony, and Pascal Pictures were the main contributors to the incredible art, and they plan on making at least one more film to follow this successful movie. I am eager to see the follow-up film to see how Marvel, Sony, and Pascal can continue to maintain their style or make it even better.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Spider-man booted from MCU. Reports say that Sony and Disney cannot come to an agreement on co-producing. So basically, there's no way in telling if we will ever be able to see a follow-up film which is really disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the colors pop. Gives you a real modern city vibe.
ReplyDeleteThis movie has an insane animation style. The way it goes from 60fps to 30fps in fight scenes is genus.
ReplyDeleteThis movie is fantastic. I had a blast watching it in the theater. The art style and animation are incredible. I'm glad it managed to get an Oscar.
ReplyDeleteI could talk for hours about how they made this movie, but I think one of my favorite parts is how they created new animation system that allowed them to use Ben Day dots instead of traditional lighting.
ReplyDeleteI love the style of this movie as an avid comic fan my self. This looks exactly like a comic book and have insane hand-drawn inserts. I really hope other bigger studios continue to push what animation can be.
