Tatsuya Tanaka, Miniature Sculptor and Photographer

Tatsuya Tanaka is a Japanese miniature sculptor and photographer. He is best known for his "Miniature Calendar" exhibition, which received a lot of attention from internet viewers and consequently went viral. I found his artwork through Instagram, where he posts a different miniature sculptor every day. His 3-D still-lifes first caught my attention due to their intricacy and clever basis. It is the composition and reimagining of the use of everyday objects into tiny scenes that appeals most to any viewer. I added some of my favorites below!

    These are super cool and creative. I love how he uses everyday objects and small figures to tell a variety of eye-catching stories.

    I love the way this artist combined everyday objects with these small figures. I would like to know if he makes those figures himself.

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes.
