Samurai Jack originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2001-2004. The series follows a samurai who is sent into the future by a shape-shifting demon, Aku, seconds before he is able to defeat his nemesis. Jack must find his way back to the past to defeat Aku once and for all to prevent the dystopian future in which Aku rules. The show has inspired many artists with its unique visuals that showcase the diverse factors of this futuristic society. Pictured below are a few backgrounds painted by art director, Scott Wills.

I love the stylisation of these images; they're so fluid and inviting, yet they still have a message and a story. The colour choices he uses also conveys what Scott is trying to explain in Jack's world. Thank you for sharing this!
