While looking for ideas for my self portrait project, I came across some pictures taken by David Uzochukwu. I looked up some more photography by him and found some very intriguing photos. He seems to use many creative ideas involving props, water and contortion with peoples bodies in the photos. His pictures really were a good example for our project because of some of the ways he would edit them. You can see he uses gradients and takes his pictures using the lighting in the most effective way. Elements of line and texture are used in a lot of his photos with the background (like the water) and he seems to use a smoke-like brush to make his pictures more interesting. Also he uses some sort of mirror effect that reminded me of the edit where we made a copy of ourselves and translated it. Here are some of his works below:
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. I really like how the couple are positioned, and how their legs are symmetrical but their torsos are not.
