Federico Infante

For my contemporary artist sketchbook assignment I chose a painter named Federico Infante. Federico's work is very unique in his process, finished products, and overall meaning. He creates these beautiful pieces by a process of painting layers on layers of acrylic paint and then scratching it off. As a result, each piece becomes unique in it's own way. Federico also doesn't plan his work in advance, and tries to "stay present and as detached as possible from the result," which I find really inspiring. I love the colors, movement, and mystery that is found in his work and I'm now using Federico's pieces to inspire my concentration. Definitely checkout his website and I also recommend reading his artist statement (http://www.federicoinfante.com/)!

This is a thumbnail of my experimentation for my concentration. I took pictures of chipped or patterned surfaces and I'm going to combine them with a portrait of movement. I'm still experimenting with composition and brushes but I continue to be inspired by Federico's work.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Bye For Now DMA

Well since I'm a senior, then this is probably going to be my last blog post. Next year, I am going to do the Digital Design program at the Warren County Career Center for college credit, so I'm still going to do some DMA stuff after graduation. It's been very cool to be making cool stuff here and I'll miss you guys and I know your going to miss me and my dog Max.
