A few weeks ago, I saw AJR perform in Indianapolis. There concert stood out to me because of the way that they used the screens and lights not just as a backdrop, but almost as a part of the show itself. During each song, they would interact with the background to help tell the story of their music. In this video(link below), the lead singer Jack, is walking on a treadmill in front of a moving background, to give the illusion that he is actually walking in the city in the rain. Even though they do not have as high of a production budget as some other musical groups, they way that they utilize their set is very unique and definitely makes their concerts memorable.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love.
