Hi this is Reagan Heck and I'm in DMA 1 this year. I chose this digital design because it is so creative and speaks the truth like a story would. It suggests that time is only an illusion, and crumbles the closer you try to get to it. I like how the artist placed visible gears within the clock to show that time is mechanical and may not be real. The curved staircase shows an interesting perspective, and creates depth within the art. The waves allow the art to appear to move and creates motion with the chunks of the clock flying off the clock. The dark clouds rolling in also portray a sense of motion. I like how the color scheme is mainly grey because it shows how dreary the situation really is. Color scheme can make the art express a mood, and these colors portray the mood of this piece of digital art perfectly.

  1. I like this. I agree with the fact that the color scheme expresses a mood and this looks best with mostly grey colors. If the sky was blue and the ocean was bright, it wouldn't give such an eerie feel.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
