365 Postcards for Ants

Hi it's Cassidy J Foley #week2
These little painting are called "365 Postcards for Ants" I thought it was interesting how small and detailed these are. Loraine Loots has made a different miniature "postcard" every day of the year since the January 1st, 2013. Here is Loraine's website: http://lorraineloots.com/

  1. I think the idea of putting a coin, and a pencil next to the picture really shows the more intricate detail and how small it really is. Amazing detail, really cool!

  2. The detail looks amazing and I really like the size comparison between the coin and the drawing

  3. The amount of detail in such small pictures is amazing, i think its cool how they put larger objects next to the pictures to be able to compare the actual sizes just by looking at it.

  4. these are such gorgeous little illustrations! in love with the amount of detail that was put into each of these, and I wonder how they shaded each of them without going "outside the lines"

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
