Brandon Woelfel

Brandon Woelfel is a popular photographer from New York. He graduated in 2016 from the school of visual arts in Manhattan with a bachelor degree in computer art. He has a very consistent editing style, mainly featuring portraits taken at night, with a shallow depth of field. He likes to play around with smoke and lens flares, and Bokeh effects. Brandon uses a Nikon D750, and uses a variety of lenses; primarily 50mm F1.8 or F1.4 prime lenses. Brandon has always been a great inspiration to me and his photos never fail to amaze me. He is most definitely my favorite photographer.

    Hey Amber! I love that you shared this because I'm always looking for people who inspire me as an artist. I really like the picture you choose and think it is very well edited with the different volumes of light that is happening, from the sky to the dirt that she's standing on. I will have to check him out!

    I’ve always been a fan of his work! The types of techniques that he uses always inspire me to always be creative when taking pictures and to not be afraid to try new things!

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

 If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017.
