Working with light and contrast

When we visited the Taft Museum I chose a piece to do my project on a piece that had a lot of contrast. That piece inspired me because of the interesting choice of lighting along with the placement of the body.  My piece that I'm creating off of that is going to be an image with very high contrast as well. Here's some images that I really like the look of. I will be working with lighting and placement just like the artist of the painting.

  1. I love the shadows in these pictures and the contrast between light and shadow areas.

  2. These are beautiful I especially love the way the shadows fall and cover the features of the woman in the second picture

  3. I love how the shadows add more feelings to each picture like how the artist wanted the viewers to feel about it.

  4. I think it's cool to see the light emphasizing a different part of the body in each piece. I also like how the artist used different age groups of for models for variety.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini
