One of my favorite movies of all time is Coraline and over the weekend I watched it again and have become fascinated with how it was filmed. I did some research and found that it took almost 2 years to film!!! That must take some serious dedication, I can't imagine how much work went into the making of this movie.
For our new AP DMA project we're doing interior perspectives, and this movie is really inspiring what I want to do for the project, I love the overall style and vibe of the movie, the darkness and the portrayal of the characters. The architecture in this movie is also really really cool, in my project I will definitely take inspiration from it.
I never knew this was how Coraline was filmed! I love that movie but i haven't seen it in a while so I've forgotten what the movie looked like. The process for creating the movie looks intensely detailed, so wonder it took so long.
ReplyDeleteStop motion is such a process I usually don't have the patience for a project like that. I'm pretty sure that even a lot of old Disney films such as Cinderella and The Lion King took at least a year or two to film as well since they used a similar stop-motion technique, but with 2D photos instead of 3D models.
ReplyDeleteI love the use of color scheme! The angles and features add a lot of detail to the scenes.
