One of my favorite movies of all time is Coraline and over the weekend I watched it again and have become fascinated with how it was filmed. I did some research and found that it took almost 2 years to film!!! That must take some serious dedication, I can't imagine how much work went into the making of this movie. 

For our new AP DMA project we're doing interior perspectives, and this movie is really inspiring what I want to do for the project, I love the overall style and vibe of the movie, the darkness and the portrayal of the characters. The architecture in this movie is also really really cool, in my project I will definitely take inspiration from it.

    I never knew this was how Coraline was filmed! I love that movie but i haven't seen it in a while so I've forgotten what the movie looked like. The process for creating the movie looks intensely detailed, so wonder it took so long.

    Stop motion is such a process I usually don't have the patience for a project like that. I'm pretty sure that even a lot of old Disney films such as Cinderella and The Lion King took at least a year or two to film as well since they used a similar stop-motion technique, but with 2D photos instead of 3D models.

    I love the use of color scheme! The angles and features add a lot of detail to the scenes.

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

 If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017.
