Lines

Hi all! I found this interesting concept on Pinterest and had to share. First off I've noticed I'm kind of obsessed with lines in many pieces that I've done and this theme of contour lines really stood out to me. I love the dimension and structure feel lines give to a piece. In these pieces the contrast between the delicacy of dance and the harsh lines is amazing and really draws the eye. The fact that all of the lines are developed from one point really takes your eyes through the piece and you follow the depth of each shape around the dancers. It's as if they're frozen and the lines are holding their pose to take the picture.

  1. I really really like how the geometric lines fit with the position of the people.

  2. I love these pictures and how the lines draw your attention to the people and make you take a closer look at what they are doing.

  4. I love how the lines all stem from one point which makes your eyes follow them to rest on the featured motion or position of the dancer.

  5. These are crazy beautiful. It reminds me of puppetry and I love how the lines look like they're either pulling or restricting the dancers' motions.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Bye For Now DMA

Well since I'm a senior, then this is probably going to be my last blog post. Next year, I am going to do the Digital Design program at the Warren County Career Center for college credit, so I'm still going to do some DMA stuff after graduation. It's been very cool to be making cool stuff here and I'll miss you guys and I know your going to miss me and my dog Max.
