Hello all, my name is Katrina Kessler and I'm a senior in AP DMA! As many of you know, my absolute favorite art muse is the human body and face. Some of the most beautiful artworks in my opinion are paintings or drawing that incorporate human forms into them in an elegant way. The art works above are done by one of my favorite artists to date, Henrik Aarrestad Uldalen, aka Henrikaau on social media. A lot of his paintings end up with an incomplete look but it works out perfectly because it aids to the messages he tries to get across with his work. I aspire to be as good as him someday. His work has me feelin' some sort of way...

Anyways, here's his website!! Look at it for inspiration or just if you want to see some beautiful work.

  1. It almost seems like his art just completes itself in your head.

  2. I love the unfinished look to his pieces. I think they strengthen the pieces.

  3. I love different emotions people make with their face and this artist was able to capture it and it looks great! I also love the brushes it looks like a painting

  4. These almost remind me of a double exposure with the faces and some sort of landscape. I love how you can really see anything in these photos if you look hard enough.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
