Hello friends, My name is Emily Hoyle and I am in AP DMA. This is my first time blogging this year! So I found this super cool artist named David Troquier on stumbleupon. He calls these pieces "cartoon bombing". I love the way he uses things he sees in his day to day life and uses them to tell a story. His art is also very clever and funny which I think is super cool. There are even more examples of his work on his website, www.troqman.com . Hope you guys like it :)

  1. This idea is so cool! it almost makes me jealous that I didn't come up with it first! I love how he took things that we don't really think about being creative like crumbs on a plate and made it look like a mess that someone had to clean up! I really love this. thanks for sharing :)

  2. Oh my gosh these are so funny and creative!! It reminds me of that small project we did the first week of DMA1 last year, with the paper clips! But I really like how the drawings kind of look like sketched and are in black ink.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
