Hey guys, I'm Abbey and I'm a senior in AP DMA. My first post here on the blog is about a piece I found on Pinterest.
Not only is it well done and really appealing to look at, but it has meaning, too.
The little caption thing on the pin said: "Artist-Architect : I believe every architect should take a position in their designs. Their values should underlie every project they work on. This image, to me, represents how this artist values the natural environment above the urban, human imposed environment."
I really like this piece and I think we should all focus on having both good technique in our work, and meaning behind it.

  2. This work has a lot of symbolism and is really cool with all the colors and contrast between the city part and nature part.

  5. This is so neat how you are able to view nature and urban life together in one piece. I love the contrast of watercolor used and how the contour lines outline the images.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
