CYA

Hey, I am Kirby. I took DMA 1 last year, and I honestly had no intentions of doing anything with art. To be honest, last year I just scheduled this class to fill up space for my senior year. I am really happy I actually took this class though, not only have I learned a lot about art, but I have really enjoyed working with (some of) the people in here. Mrs. Shields is an amazing teacher, and although it sometimes seems like she is just getting on you for random stuff, she is actually molding you into a young adult and an aspiring artist. I am really proud of the work that I have accomplished this year, and although I am going to UC for Pharmacy, I am glad I took this class. Not only has it made me proud, but it has also made my family proud of me, and that is definitely important. Good luck to the future AP students. I'm sure you guys will make awesome art work and become great artists!

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
