The band Tool has been around since their first album, Undertow, released in 1993. Since then, the progressive metal band has seen an unexpected amount of commercial success. They're know for their unique sound and usage of weird time signatures in their songs. One of their most well known songs, Lateralus, is completely constructed around a series of numbers known as, "The Fibonacci Sequence". The chorus of the song switches between 9/8, 7/8, and 4/4. I highly recommend listening to that song if you're interested. Tool has also always had fascinating album covers to me. In order, the albums are Undertow, Ã†nima, Lateralus, 10,000 Days, and finally Fear Inoculum, which just released August 30th of 2019, thirteen years after the release of 10,000 Days.

  1. I think Lateralus is the best Tool album. Really love its cover design and I even got their
Tool Lateralus Album Poster - it looks amazing on the wall! (and trippy though :)

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
