This may be an unpopular opinion, but listen to this. In the last 10 years or so, Dreamworks has definitely beat Disney in the quality of their animated movies AND their sequels. See, while Disney was releasing movies like "The Good Dinosaur" and the live action "The Lion King" and "Aladdin" Dreamworks was pumping out Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, and 3, along with How to Train Your Dragon 1, 2, and 3. Those 2 movie franchises alone are probably some of the best movies ever made. Now, even though those movies are great, nothing can beat old Disney, with "The Aristocats" and "Tarzan." Those are classics from my childhood which can never be beat no matter what. However when Disney starts to milk out money from those great movies, that is where Dreamworks takes over. They can make sequels without it seeming like it is all for the money.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. The argument you've presented is interesting!
