Birdy- Keeping Your Head Up

I'm posting yet another music video because I think music videos are extremely amazing and this one in particular is extremely amazing. This video is to the song Keeping Your Head Up by Birdy who has a beautiful voice and demonstrates it in a beautiful music video. In some of Birdy's previous music videos, she plays with a real-life Alice in Wonderland, costume, old English, glittery light aesthetic, which I love. Keeping Your Head Up is one of her newer songs and she doesn't fail to impress with this aesthetic again. She takes the glittery, back-lit lights, colors, costumes, and fantasy feel, and mixes it with amazing effects and interesting background dancers. This all results in an almost creepy, dreamlike, totally creative music video. Also, I get sometimes you can get bored watching a non-narrative music video (even though this video does have a little bit of a narrative to think about, but you get what I mean), but this one definitely keeps you watching! Highly, highly recommend watching this video because it definitely got me inspired to want to learn about new and cool filming techniques and effects.

Also check out her older video I was referencing. It's called Wings!

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Speed Painting

This a painting made in Photoshop by a guy who goes by the name " The Concept Painter " on Youtube. He does lots of Photoshop speed painting videos and also air brush videos. This particular painting took him 3.5 hours to complete and was made using a drawing tablet similar to the ones we use in our class.

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
