Vintage Collage

While browsing on Pinterest, I came across this really cool digital collage. I love the simple color scheme (pink, grey, and black) as well as the opacity changes of the shapes. I think all of the elements work really well together to create this awesome digital collage.

Scanography

This was a recent project I did called scanography. Scanography is basically taking a scanner and using different objects to manipulate the object. This is the ridges of my fingerprint of the fingerprint sensor on my phone. I used the highest resolution possible for the most detailed photograph. This was my favorite of the scanography projects I did
This piece really stood out to me mostly because of the hairy-like texture it gives him. I really like how the plant goes around his eyes too its neat, while following the left side of his face. What else stood out about this double exposure is that it is in color, which is not common in that type of art.

Graffiti Art

I couldn't find the name of the artist that painted this, but I chose to do a blog on it because I love how graffiti art can bring so much life to plain objects. I especially love this one because its so detailed and colorful.

Gonzalo Machado

Hi guys! I wanted to share these ideas by Gonzalo Machado. The concept of tearing the page from black and white to color, but still keeping the same girl as the center of interest in every piece is beautiful to me. I love the idea of mixing design and photography in the flower piece. This is a very simple idea and catches your eye right away, but I never would've thought of doing something like this. I really want to try this idea now! Such great pieces!!

6 Word Memior

Time is running out, this work expresses the emotion involved with the stressful decisions of my life. Or yours?

Giuseppe Licari

hello. it's friday. this week i thought i'd do a post about 3d art because i think that we sometimes forget about all the amazing things that can be created and discovered without the help of a computer. camera, etc. these structures were curated by Giuseppe Licari, born in Sicily. The roots themselves are amazing, but the shadows they cast on the ground are beautiful as well.

Trippy Video

I found this clip pretty interesting. I liked in the beginning how it started out as a spherical shape then flattened out across the screen. I loved the colors and patterns in it. There were a lot of neat designs.

Compositing Inspiration

Hi everybody! I thought this was a really cool example of compositing, Logically you know that the dog isn't really bigger than the building, but the image still looks as though it could have happened in real life. The lighting and shadows are coordinated just right so that it looks as though the dog really was almost as tall as the Golden Gate bridge!

Chivalry is Dead

I love this video because it just shows how people are willing to do anything. I also like the setting and the song gives it a very playful feel. The choreography is very interesting and very fun.

Center of interest

I like this picture because, the player and the ball is the center of the attention and that shows through the lighting and the crowd and everyone else being darker&watching.

Double Exposure

I love the look of double exposure photography and so I was browsing through Pinterest and I saw a lot of human heads and nature, which were neat. Andreas Lie puts a unique spin on it and photographs animals and their habitats and then blends them together (so not quite double exposure!) This one was my favorite because I love the different colors and how much they brighten up what could just be a basic picture of an owl. It's also cool that he chose to keep a simple background, but not just plain white, so it's interesting to look at while not distracting from the picture. There are more examples  here .
Heres my best scanography, I picked a rose from my back yard and scanned it. But there wasn't really anything interesting about it, so I got some shiny pearl paint and covered the rose with it. I think it turned out pretty cool.

Me during school... except DMA

Hey guys so we just recently finished a contour line project so I decided to post a cool example of one. I really like how the lines come together and form the face. I like the wrinkles and the use of colored lines also.
I think it's important to enjoy not only examine "happy" art, but also dark, depressing works. For example, the "Black Paintings" by Goya, are masterpieces, even though they're dim and dark in nature. Art can express all emotions, not only the happy ones.

first blog post!!!

Hi, I'm Alex and I'm in DMA 1. I thought for my first blog post I'd showcase some pieces that I find beautiful and styles I like. These three are, obviously, very different, but I love the blue and cool color scheme in the last two and the long brush strokes. They both appear to be painted. The top one is symmetrical yet sloppy at the same time and I love the repetition of lines. I hope to implement some of these techniques in my art this year!
So in class we were doing a contour line project and I decided to do a flower. I'm really proud of how it came out. I love the way the painting brushes I used came out.

Lebrrrroooonnnn Jaaaammmmmeeesss

I love how the background are fans but they are blurry and you see spotlight and it makes the picture more interesting.
Hello all, my name is Katrina Kessler and I'm a senior in AP DMA! As many of you know, my absolute favorite art muse is the human body and face. Some of the most beautiful artworks in my opinion are paintings or drawing that incorporate human forms into them in an elegant way. The art works above are done by one of my favorite artists to date, Henrik  Aarrestad Uldalen, aka Henrikaau on social media. A lot of his paintings end up with an incomplete look but it works out perfectly because it aids to the messages he tries to get across with his work. I aspire to be as good as him someday. His work has me feelin' some sort of way... Anyways, here's his website!! Look at it for inspiration or just if you want to see some beautiful work. ---->  http://henrikaau.com/
I edited this.

Fisheye Lens

I think that this very interesting angle of the Cincinnati Skyline Bridge using a Fisheye Lens.  It really shows the length of the bridge.

Digital Painting

I really enjoy this Digital Painting because it transforms her face into something completely different, and it creates an entire different emotion of the photo. I think it's very creative how the author of this photo created her tears to be a stream on her own face.

Fisheye Lens

Hi my name is Kali Reaves and I am in DMA I,  and this is a picture of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France taken with a fisheye lens. I really love the fisheye lens and how it completely changes the contents of the photo. This is another photo taken with a fisheye lens, this photo is taken over Las Vegas. I really love how this lens morphs the shapes of the buildings.

Photographer Follows Girlfriend Around the World

It's Monday. So today I found these really rad pictures of this photographer's lady friend that just so happen to be in different parts of the country. What drew my eye to this collection was the fact that the subject (the lady friend) stayed constant while the amazing background pictures changed. You can tell where the couple went without having to ask. Oh, also I am one of those "senior citizens" and reside happily in AP DMA :) Have a fantastic week! Friday is almost here!  ~Mackenzie Mettey

Quilled Paper Art

Hey guys! My name is Josh and I'm in DMA 1. My first blog post is about these pieces I found on twitter. These were made by Sena Runa and I think they are the coolest things ever! I thought it was really neat how she only used paper to create such meticulous creations. What she does is called paper quilling, where you roll, shape, and glue strips of paper together to create objects of your choosing. I love how she uses such vibrant colors/ gradients the colors to create such eye catching sculptures!
i really like this example of force perspective i love the lighting and how it has light & shadow also. id live to put something like this in my work. i also like how the sky is all orange its my favorite color :)
Hi I'm Mikayla Werner & I'm in DMA 1. I am a person that really enjoys watercolor and the effect that it gives pictures. I really liked how these artists took a picture or painting and added some watercolor to add a story or a certain emotion. I would really love to try and do something like this in the future :)
Hi, I'm  Ben Kessler and I'm in Mrs. Shields DMA 1 class. We are starting to learn about many different lenses. One of my favorites is the macro lens. I like it because it allows you to see the textures of small objects in details. Here is a picture that was taken with the macro lens.

First Post

I really liked these pictures of flowers above the streets of Portugal because the colors are very vibrant and have a nice pattern that is reflected onto the streets. I also really liked that this is an example of the fact that there is art almost everywhere you look even if you don't realize it at first.

Fish Eye Picture

I like this picture because you can see how the fish eye lens makes the buildings look like a globe and its also my FIRST POST!!!!!! :D

Digital Collage Inspiration

In AP DMA we are working on the six-Word Memoir Photoshop Collage so I went on Pinterest looking for inspiration and found tons but I really liked these three. I like the idea of making it about fashion and using bold colors that pop. I like the watercolor bushes in the first picture and the colors that were used. In the second picture I really liked how the image is formed by a bunch of little pictures, like multiply pictures within a picture. The third picture might be too simple for what we are working on but I like the contour lines thrown into it. Maybe these will inspire you too! :)
