Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame is definitely one of the darker movies that they've made. The original story is a book written by Victor Hugo who also wrote Les Miserables. It's interesting when watching the movie to see how Disney made it kid-friendly while still keeping in the dark aspects written by Hugo. This movie sticks out like a sore thumb as it came out right after Pocahontas and is a weirdly dark pitstop before Hercules.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. ReplyDeleteI adore this movie. The animation is breath taking. (I like the stage musical more though...)
