With the release of Season 4 of Attack on Titan, the studio MAPPA was in charge of the animations for the series versus WIT, who had animated the previous 3 seasons. One major change MAPPA made that WIT did not use while animating seasons 1-3 is the use of CGI in animation. I personally think that the CGI titans seem out of place when every other character and building is in 2D. While it may look a little odd, I cannot complain about the work that MAPPA did. They truly nailed every scene and I cannot wait for the second part of Season 4 next Winter.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. It still looks great! As long as it's true to story and designs, it shouldn't really matter!
ReplyDeleteCrazy how good the animating still is
