While thinking about the different ideas I had for my sustained investigation, I wanted to take a look at what forms of art really drew me in. On of those artistic methods was pendulum painting. The style has gained some followers in the recent past and I dare to say has become a bit mainstream. To paint like this requires very little really. String, a container with a hole/s in the bottom, a canvas, and lots of paint. Once you've found your color palette, you just let the container swing and it creates its own geometric pattern.
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Pendulum paintings are trippy. I love the effect they give, the swirling into an abyss is so cool.

ReplyDeleteWatching people paint these is just so mesmerizing. And the final product always looks so nice to me!
