My post this week is dedicated to my lifelong best friend, Anna-Claire Barker. Today (September 13th) is her birthday!! Happy 17th, AC!! :) Having grown up together, I've seen her artistic talent grow with her as we've grown up. She started off being 10 times better than me at coloring in the lines of our Lisa Frank coloring book, and then that progressed into drawings and paintings. I've taken some photos for her to base her paintings off of, so you could say I contributed at least a little bit. Watching her grow as an artist as we've grown has been absolutely incredible. I thought her drawings were awesome when we were little, but seeing that talent develop into hyper-realistic paintings has been such a neat experience. AC, I'm so incredibly proud of you. You're doing great things and I can't wait to see where your art takes you. Happy birthday kiddo, I love you!! I'm attaching a few of my favorite works of hers for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy. :) -ES
This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love.
