This picture is of sunglasses but in the lenses there is a city. I really like these sunglasses and think they would look good on me. This looks like a basic image but from what I've learned in DMA its hard to be creative. This photograph tells a story depending on how you look at it. The black and white colors make it hard to tell whats going on in the lenses. This is a very cool picture and I hope you like it as much as I do.

Telling Stories With Film

The video "Bike Lanes"by Casey Neistat is easily my favorite video on YouTube. What I love about it is how it tells a story from something can be told with one simple sentence but he expounds its meaning and shows the story in a funny way. He is very good at doing this, meaning he takes something simple and boring and makes it into a story. He managed to turn almost every day into a story for over year until recently when he ended his daily vlog. If you are interested in film and haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at his channel, recently he has become a fan favorite and an inspiration for many. I hope to be able to use his storytelling ability with any films we make this year.

Terry Border

I have a high appreciation for comedic art. I found an artist named Terry Border who brings everyday foods and objects to life through bent wire and the strategic placing of the environment of the photograph. I love the humor and voice he brings to his pieces. He has hundreds, check out more on his website!

Very Late.. Vector Portrait!

Since we started on making portraits with vectors and getting an idea on what we are doing with it, I decided to look around at vectors. Some of these are really cool! From geometric shapes to lots of curves and weird lines to make a human! I thought the way the artist made his portrait was very interesting. He used what seems to be hundreds of triangles instead of many of the others I found which used curved lines and different shapes. I like how he used a geometric shape to somehow create an organic creature. Each triangle has its own color as well. I think I'll use a method like this on a vector portrait! Here is more of this artist's work! Sorry for late publish :(

Psychedelic Astronaut

I really like this picture. It shows an astronaut in way that we are not typically used to. I really like the bright colors used because normally, an astronaut is dressed in all white and it is kind of boring. This is an art style that I am really interested in.

Max Amos Tattoos

This tattoo artist is well known for his glitch tattoos, I like how glitch is usually something seen as a bad thing but this artist knows how to make people appreciate the art of glitch. Pieces like this are a huge inspiration for my concentration, as you probably know I manipulate my pieces using the scanner. Its like this artist distorts his images in the scanner and then tattoos them to add a really unique effect, I really love it.

digital collage- album covers

I really love digital collage and these are some album covers that I have found recently that make a great use of the technique. I love the surreal color scheme in both covers and The textures in the palehound cover.

Underwater Photography

The ocean is one of my favorite places in the world and I've always ben fascinated with the creatures living within it. I found this huge contest of underwater photographs where they categorize the contest by lens type. My favorite picture is the one of an eel larva, I love macro shots I just think the colors and stance of the eel is awesome. Here is the link to the Winners of each category,  http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/2015-ocean-art-contest-winners , check it out!

INSANE Makeup Art!

Makeup Art            Artist Veronica Ershova is an insanely talented makeup artist. She can make someone's face                look so trippy and 3D.         Here is a link to her instagram, because she doesn't have a website:  Veronica Ershova (@ni4e05) • Instagram photos and videos

Living Paintings... by Alexa Meade

She pretty much combines body paint and film to make a "Look alike"  of a painting which you wouldn't believe it's an actual person until it starts moving. I feel that It's pretty interesting how her technique is so clean that people actually camouflage with the background.
I found this really cool 360 degree video on YouTube! It gives a look into behind the scenes of capturing those breathtaking and risky photos we all love! I really enjoy videos that are shot with 360 cameras since it gives you a whole new level of immersion into the video.

Monsters Inc. Bloopers

This shows the creativeness and comedy Disney Pixar  has towards their movies they make. That they feel very passionately  towards their movies and that they like to have a little fun with it as well. In our class studying film making and animation, in Monster Inc. Pixar decided to make a funny blooper reel to show that their animated creatures actually were actually things of their own and that it showed they have some human characteristics that the child watching the movie loves.

Kaleidoscope

http://www.megandowntherabbithole.com/2012/07/how-to-create-a-simple-kaleidoscope-design-in-illustrator/          If you guys are interested, here's a cool tutorial for using the rotation tool to create your kaleidoscope faster and easier. It shows you how to use the rotation tool to drag out copies around the center so you don't have to worry about spacing.

Fashion vs. Paintings

On social media, side-by-side photos comparing runway fashion to various paintings have become increasingly popular. Fashion itself is an art form that takes so much inspiration from other artworks, and whether or not these particular examples were intentional, they're fascinating to look at nonetheless. I, personally, feel very artistically/aesthetically inspired when I look at photos of various fashions, so this was especially interesting to me.
With Thanksgiving coming up I can't help but think about all the pies that my family is going to have afterwards. (Definitely the best part of the whole meal) I love these still life images of pies. They're so interesting to look at. I think what I like most about them is the interesting light sources and the high contrast. I would love to try out still life photography similar to this.

Colour Bandits- KickThePJ

This video called "Colour Bandits" is a creative, narrative style video created by a Youtuber named KickThePJ and some of his friends.  If you've ever heard of KickThePJ, you might know that he creates and posts a lot of different and creative videos on Youtube. His videos are usually based around a story he creates and includes clips and edits he does at home. However, he sometimes collaborates with his friends to create bigger productions like "Colour Bandits" or "Oscar's Hotel". When I first saw this video, I really liked how they took the idea of colored powder/flour and made it into a story. They added a voice over poem that tells a creative story of different colors and this 'bandit', as well as very unique camera angles of the colored powder being thrown. I also love how they added a very flowy, long scarf and a camera shake edit towards the end of the video to give the video a fantasy feeling.

CoNcEnTrAtIoN

My concentration for AP consists of buildings and people. The idea behind my concentration is teens views on home life. I'm doing contour line drawing to explain my concentration idea. I really love how building look after they have been manipulated in Photoshop using the technique of contour line drawing.

There Are Two Types of Trick-Or-Treaters

I don't know about you, but I still have plenty of Halloween candy spirit left, so before we pass the holiday point of no return, here is one last Halloween post. I give you the cream of the costume crop. Here are some Halloween Queens who rocked it with their original costumes. Amazon Prime Peter Pan's Shadow Mouse On A Mousetrap

Can't Help Falling in Love (Cover) By Tyler Joseph

"Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley has to be on my top 10 list for favorite songs. This video is a cover of the song by one of my favorite artists (Tyler Joseph) from the duo Twenty One Pilots. During this video there is a constant change of locations every few seconds or so. The way this video is edited, Tyler goes from location to location but it seems like he's just singing the song once and not multiple times in different locations.
Coming up this November 7th Xavier University there will be their bi-yearly student art show. All DMA students submitted their best piece of work from the first 9 weeks of DMA. This was my piece titled "The Golden Drop" that was selected as one of the pieces to be in the art show! I encourage all students to come down to Xavier University on Monday, November 7th to look at all the great student art that has been selected to be apart of this art show!
