Final Post

Hi everybody!
As a senior I am definitely going to miss DMA. This class has taught me so much and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to take it! This is one of my favorite pieces from this year, my illustrator portrait. It was one of the most challenging to make but it really pushed me to be a better artist and it was definitely worth it in the end to see it win a silver key in scholastics!
Next year I will be attending UC DAAP with a major in Communication Design and am so excited to take the skills I've learned here even farther. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here!

  1. I love this piece because the abstract shapes that make up the face are interesting and make it look like a smooth drawing, but also gives believable depth. Good luck at DAAP next year it'll be awesome!!!

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. From a fellow artist: take the opportunities that you are given and work hard doing what you love. Malena Bozzini         Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures. It is amazing how she developed such a style at such a young age.  Instagram @ malenabozzini

Another Comic Book Artist (Woo!): Annie Wu

If you have talked to me for more than one minute, I am a huge nerd. So, I am making another post about comic book artists. This time it's Annie Wu. She's a comic book artists who lives in Chicago, and is one of my inspiration artists for my sustained investigation. A lot of her work is dramatic with deep and dark lines with bold colors which is makes style perfect for where I first found her work. I first saw her work in the Black Canary book in 2017. Eventually, I will talk about Marvel comic book artists, but not today. If you want to check out more of her work, here is her website:  https://www.anniewuart.com/
