Golden Lion Awards 2016

The seventh Annual Golden Lion Awards Film Festival was held on Saturday, April 9, 2016. The event is co-sponsored by Ursuline Academy and Watkins College of Design, Art, & Film. Prior to the film festival, films are evaluated by a judging panel. The night of the event, award winning films in each category are shown to the entire audience. Winners in each film category receive either a Golden Lion, White Lion, or Mountain Lion award. Before the conclusion of the festival, judges vote on the Special Recognition Awards, including Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay,Most Inspirational, and Critic’s Choice: Best of Show. Winners of all Special Recognition awards receive scholarships to Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film, the event’s main sponsor.

Last Blog Post

This is my last blog post for my senior year, so I'd like to say that I am so glad I took DMA classes throughout high school. I've learned so much and I wouldn't be where I am today without my experiences in the classes. I will be attending the Savannah College of Art and Design this coming fall and I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about majoring and working in the film industry, however, I will be pursuing all and any forms of art in the future as well. Malena Bozzini Malena Bozzini is a sophomore college student studying psychology. As her passion she is an artist. Her work is so original and abstract in order to dramatize her figures. She creates art out of emotion and uses her feelings to choose color and shape. One of the most interesting facts is that all of her pieces are done with colored pencils. Her art is so expressive that each piece gives out its own vibe. What makes her art unique is that it is inspired by motion and gestures.
